help with non functioning hid low beam
My pass side low beam quit working. Ordered a new bulb. Replaced bulb and found the old one was shattered. Replaced the red and black connector on the back of the bulb.
The lamp still does not light but the warning on the dash no longer says the passenger low beam is not functioning.
What should I do next and are there diagnostics to help determine what to replace next.
Thanks for the help.
Jim

It's probably the ballast (underneath the headlight). You said you melted the connector? I also had a bulb that started to break through the glass.

It can only be one of 3 things: bulb, igniter, or ballast. Sounds like you've already replaced bulb and igniter so that leaves the ballast.
If that doesn't work, make sure you've checked the fuses too (actually check the fuses first before spending money on a ballast). Fuses are #62 and #63, can't remember which is left and which is right. They are 5 amp fuses, under engine bay, if you're standing at driver side of the car they are at the bottom right of the fuse box, 2nd and 3rd fuse up.
