I figured it's the starter. I know what a low battery sounds like and I know this is not that. This shakes the whole car. I think the starter is under the passenger side and probably under the header in back of the alternator? Is there anything anywhere that shows a detailed view of a M113 starter being changed?

Yeah, it's located under passenger side(attached to the tranny), have to pull out "2" tranny housing bolts, then it will comes-out easily,,

see this DIY, it's same procedure:-

Another thing to mention, clean your ground connections, at battery, positive line to starter and alternator, make sure all of that is good too. Usually you just use some fine grit sandpaper or a file to do this.

I still think you need to properly test the battery, which seems like something you didn't do yet. If you're getting the clicking/grinding noise but no turn over that means it's your battery, not the starter. Since you have the other car, pull the battery out after the car has been sitting for a while and take it to Advance.

I took the battery over to Pep Boys to get it tested. The initial test said that the battery was good but the charge is a little low so I left it there for an hour to charge. There was no drain on the battery that would make the lights dim. Now I have to find a way to get the car far enough off the ground to get at the starter. My floor jack only goes up 16". I might need a new floor jack.

Post29 read the pelican site as far as the connection points for the battery, Check all these areas. possible you have a burnt/loose connection read their replacement directions from the start.

Please do not respond to this thread, I switched it to my other intake/injector thread. Ok, the battery was fully charged and it fired up! Now I have bigger problems!
Finally got a new set of injectors on before I started it up. When it first started it was fine then immediately following white smoke poured out both tailpipes and was not stopping. It did pull up codes and they are as followed. P0300 Generic Random Misfire, P0304 Cylinder 4 Misfire, P0302 Cylinder 2 Misfire, P0307 Cylinder 7 Misfire, P0308 Cylinder 8 Misfire. Now Pending Codes: P0202 Open Injector Circuit Cylinder 2, P0304 again, P0302 again, P0300 again, P0307 again, P0308 Again.
I know you can't diagnose without seeing the car but I am worried about the white smoke. I checked the coolant level and it is perfect?

No codes for 02 or Cats? The car was only running for about 1 minute

Thank you very much everybody for your help on this one. I am not going any further into it .
