Any Updated Repair Procudure for Steering Tilt Dogbone?

I've read through several posts and procedures documenting the monumental amount of interior bits which need to be removed just to access the plastic dogbone. I know MBZ can be trying at times for ownership and repairs but this one seems to take the cake. Half the dash needs to come out!

Really I'm just wondering if anyone has found a way to access the dogbone without having to take out the center console parts. Seems like you should be able to drop all the dash parts under the steering wheel without having to pull out the center console parts. Hoping for a BTDT...

Thanks to those that have posted well documented repair procedures for this and other repairs. I'd be at the dealer with empty pockets otherwise. Looking forward to digging in soon as the steering wheel is stuck in School Bus mode!

A white plastic piece, shaped like a dogbone, breaks and renders the tilt function inoperable. $5 part, 6 hour +/- fix.
