Another Successful install of Digital Climate Control in C55
Here are the details:
2005 C55 build date of 09/04
Removed standard climate control head unit with four knobs
Purchased P/N 203-830-19-85 from ebay seller-searched ebay for this P/N
This P/N or Unit has the AC off and Rest function button.
Supposedly came from '05 CLK 500 as marked on the unit from the seller
Installed, cycled the flaps with the reset of recirc and front defrost
All functions that should work, work perfectly, no problems.
Observations;
LED is ON/lit when the AC is off, as labelled on the unit/button
Passenger Diverter flaps are not seperately functional, as expected. Drivers side operates both sides just as before.
Rest is operational and as stated in the manual, it will run the HVAC fans on the lowest speed setting up to 30 mins after the vehicle is turned off, and try to maintain whatever the last temperature called for on the head unit when the vehicle was turned off.
Temp control is much better; ie more accurate.
Looks great, glad I did it.
$225 with free shipping.
Hope that helps with your next install!

Thanks I was going to put one in my mom's c230. The standard one is a terrible design. What happens with the passenger flaps when you adjust the knob? Does the drivers side one control both?

I read somewhere that a normal w203 member was able to swap his over to digital using an 07+ climate control. It's funny 05-06s cost an arm and a leg and 07+ are fairly inexpensive. That's why I'm hesitant on buying
