Steering column travel problem

I have an '05 C55. The positive battery terminal became loose and allowed the battery to die. I have successfully reset the window and sunroof travel but the steering column does not want to reset. It will move up and down just slightly (maybe 1 cm) and I have tried the reset procedure numerous times. Does anyone know of a different reset procedure I should be following? It seems like the motor and switches are functioning. Thanks for any help. __________________

I'm having the exact same issue... so subscribing in case someone has a fix. The in/out adjustment works flawlessly, but the vertical is VERY limited, maybe 1/4" or so.

I had a same problem.
I remove the adjustment of steering column and I re-adjust to put the column at the higher position and after the steering column go up and down (full travel).

Is not a easy job!

To help you!

Good link! I remember reading rumours (so people posting that they had seen it or heard of it being done) that knowledgeable a tech managed to install the new 'dogbone' with a pair of long needle nose pliers in 5 minutes, without disassembling the dash. Would like to know more about that procedure!
