C55 Quaife LSD Install Questions
From what I understand the following Quaife LSD part numbers are up to date as of 4-13-2015:
If I want a Quaife LSD for a C32 AMG, I want part number: QDF7V (Designed for 210 axle)
If I want a Quaife LSD for a C55 AMG, I want part number: QDF9V (Designed for 215 axle)
Correct?
Also, I have been in contact with Autoscope in DFW about getting one installed in my car. They mentioned that the differential housing would have to be modified in order to install the Quaife LSD. My understanding is that this is supposed to be a straight forward install, that does not require machine work. Am I missing something?
They are trying to sell me on the Kleemann LSD, which is a phantom grip spring type unit. I am not interested in that one.
Anyone who has experience installing or paid a shop and saw them do the install, please chime in. Thank you

QDF9V1 no modification needed.
QDF9V2 you need to grind the casing (v2 are for dodge str8, stronger version)
I have the v2 version and no shim needed for me. (Important: don't mix right and left circlip) Circlip are the shim, and they don't have the same thickness. Also, bearings are different.

@dsp_tdi. What kind of performance increase did you get( feel)? I've got a v1 quaife for my C55 and am having Speedriven put it in. The car just won't hook right now with the stock and ESP ON OR OFF.

For straight line it's a bit better. The biggest improvement is out of corners.
The car is more easiest to drift and very more controllable.
Better tires = better traction
This year, I will try NT01 for autocross and track. I have a square setup in 255/40r17 on 17x8.5 wheels.

Welp, the Autoscope deal fell through, they basically told me to source and buy the differential myself.
I will send a request to Birds Auto. I should have jumped on the group buy from the other thread while it was still available.
