Can a broken stepper stop AC from working?
I've got a few broken steppers in my car, and the AC doesn't work.. I'm kinda hoping the steppers are stopping the cold air from entering the cabin and I don't have two separate faults.
I've got the front of the dashboard out, and found M2/10 and M2/20 have broken, but still have another click from somewhere high up on the passenger side. Next step is to remove the upper dash.
I've got climatronic so rand the self test..
With the engine running I get the following...
(Push "0" and "EC/REST" button simultaneously until display changes)
00: Interior temp sensor = 26
01: Interior temp sensor =25
02: Ambient temp sensor = 85 (my external sensor is missing)
05: Evaporator temp. sensor = 27
06: Engine coolant temp. = 96
07: refrigerant pressure = 1
08: refrigerant temp = 12
The refrigerant pressure doesn't seem right, does anyone know if this is psi, Bar?
But saying that, '08 refrigerant temp' is 12. which is a lot lower than the ambient temp of 25. Which seems to point to the AC working?
Also, my EC light is off, I thought when you had a pressure/compressor problem this came on and couldn't be turned off?

I had an issues with my steeper motors not routing the ac correctly and it made it seem like the ac was not working.
