AVIN unit installed in my C55
Man...I love my car, but between it getting older and the 2 year production it is getting harder to find parts, C63 prices are coming down...
Recently found this unit online. I've been looking at upgrading the radio for years. I am still figuring out the unit. The install was fairly easy. No instructions provided, but there is an install thread online if you Google it.
Bluetooth streaming, touchscreen. Doesn't look aftermarket. No hacking OEM stuff, you can return to stock if you decide to sell. Any questions, ask away.

The fiber optic plugs into a box that gets converted and sent out to RCA wires. Factory amp works, steering wheel controls, and d2b cable? Is that for the cd changer? I didnt touch it, that antiquated piece of... is still in the glovebox.

Yup. Some stuff even shows up on the gauge cluster.
Yea, I'd sell it. PM me if you want it.

I purchased one and I'm returning it. I should have done more research before I pulled the trigger. After ordering it I read multiple posts about the sound quality and sporadic operation of the Avant 2.

That´s an clk w209 unit, it leaves a gap on the sides, it is a few millimetres smaller that w203 units.
It fits, but...
And for you guys whining about sound in chine units.
Mine sounds really good though.
Really good stereo separation and low 'white noise'.
But i´ve got big Rockford fosgate amps and a soundprocessor also.

Your black covers look great by the way. Where did you buy? Seeing yours makes me want to remove my silver ones.

The trim around the shifter and HVAC controls? I wrapped my maple or whatever pattern the trim is with a CF pattern vinyl. It is hot as hell out here so I had to get the wrinkles out a few times, but it looks better now than it does in the pics. There is a vendor somewhere that will send you legit CF trim pieces for a W203 in the neighborhood of $900 if you want to go the authentic route.

Ehh... You dont think i´ve tried without any modifying with signal?
Ofcourse i have, stereoseparation is much better than std crapunit from 'becker'.
Distortion is also lower, More attack in bass and crispier sound, produces a lot better roomfeeling.
I have used the std unit first with all other upgrades, got sick of it as it wanted to alter the signal all the time during driving.
Put the new Erisin in and got a really really nice suprice.
Suddenly it felt like music instead of a blurred rumble that smashed your ears.
Now it´s pleasant.
So, yes.. i can compare!
