C32 AMG intercooler pump replacement - pump reference
Hello everyone!
Having recently replaced my I/C pump, I thought I would try to contribute to the forum.
This topic is meant to help other forum members with a similar problem find all the information they need in a single place.
Anyway, here's the story:
A few days after purchasing my c32, I realized that when I drove it really hard for a while the supercharger would disconnect, leaving me with a lot less power and no way to really accelerate.
Stopping for a few seconds or simply braking to 50 mph would get the supercharger to reengage and give me back all the power.
I searched the forum quite a bit, and found out this was typically the intercooler pump gone bad. Since the car belonged to an old man, I think he never pushed it enough to realize the pump had to be replaced.
Anyway, I called the stealership about this and they quoted me 84 euros for diagnostics and 650 euros to change the pump.
I ended up ordering the pump myself, and had a hard time finding the reference.
Again searching the forum, I found two references for this pump, Bosch 0 392 022 002 and 0 392 022 010. 0 392 022 010 is simply the identical replacement of the 0 392 022 002. It is therefore the one you should go for.
I ordered the 0 392 022 010, which cost me 187 euros including shipping, and had it replaced by a trusted independant who charged me 50 euros for labor. Total including labor was therefore less than 240€.
Took the car for a test drive after the repair, and now it pulls hard untill the 257 km/h mark (I think it is electronically limited).

The '010' pump is the way to go for higher flow rate and better cooling. I have one on my SL55, and a Johnson on the C32.
FYI - you can remove the 257 Km/h limit with a Star Diagnostics System (SDS). Not many can use this high of a limit in the USA unless you are at a track.

That is good go know, thank you for the info.
I'm planning on doing a tune and s/c pulley with eurocharged, but removing the limiter right now before thz tune would be great (my tires are pilot sport 3 built flr 300 kph).
Where can I get a star diagnostics tool?

Search the R230 or W211 forums for info on where to find a SDS. Some use alibaba or other Chinese vendors, as that is where they come from.
There is a member named Shardul that can supply a system in the USA. He might ship overseas.
I bought a Dell D630, and had Shardul load the hard drive and supply the multiplexer and cables. Lots of options to solve this problem.

Ok thanks a lot, I'll look at this. Being in France it might be harder for me to get this tool, but I'll start with a eurocharged tune, which as far as I know will remove the 255 kph limiter anyway
