Remove Transmission? DIY?

I am having a shudder at 35 - 45 MPH. I am thinking my torque converter is the issue. Do I have to remove the engine to pull/replace the transmission? If so, that may be more that I am willing to tackle.
Thanks

No. Just drop it out the bottom. I've done it on jacks in the garage and it's not terrible but if you have a lift then no problem

Unless you have dome some really mean things to the car I doubt it is your converter. I would get the car scanned and look for other faults first.

True, I have replaced very few.

Maybe glycol contamination in fluid.

Torque converter is locked 2-5 gear so typically the shudder can be felt in all gears except 1st. This is just from my experience though

That's the thing it could be contamination. OP didn't mention checking / changing the fluid. Could be a bad conductor plate or even a shift solenoid. Thus my first comment.

I for one dont have money to shotgun parts at my car.
