Here' s a quick picture of a Silver C55 with the black CL grill from Autowerkes. Installation was quick and easy (and will be easy to reverse back if desired).

there is also a silver grill normally used on the CLK320 in the US or the elegance versions for the rest of the world.

why do they call it the CL grille for the C55 instead of the CLK grille for the C55? Doesn't the W209 grille bolts right on to the C55?

cntlaw, by "black," I mean that the slats are black with chrome accents. You can really only see the chrome accents in the picture I posted. The other choice was silver with chrome accents.

FrankW, I don't think you can bolt the W209 grill directly on to the C55 without modification. The kit I installed included the grill as well as some other key parts like a different hood latch.

Frank, you probably did not read one of the threads where someone bought the W209 grill and after installation, he could not reach the lever which opens the hood. So her had to restore the C55 grill back.

Thus, I think it is very appropriate to call this workable one " the c55 's CL Grill " !!

does this CL grill replacement also change the top so the mercedes emblem is flat.. hmm sorry i'm not sure, like the emblem that sticks up on the car. They remove it and make it flat as well?

I like the black because it look more close to the one on a CLK . I saw my next door 's W211 replaced with a silver CL grill and it looks kind of 'strange'. Of course , I guess the W211 uses a differet model.

I always liked the pointed star myself, maybe b/c it's my first benz but I will admit...that CL/CLK look is VERY nice! I really like it, a lot! I may consider this further down the road.

never really like the giant star on the sedan models. always thought they go better with the coupe styling.

I was never a fan of the star grills on the C sedans either. But this one to me looks perfect. There were to many ugly immitation star grills for the C class sedan. Some had very small stars, and some the star look HUGE! This is the perfect size. I will be getting one soon. I may even paint it black and leave the star silver. I always loved the front end of the 209 CLKs anyway!

Pscho, you can keep the standard hood emblem if you want. I decided to go with the flat emblem when I switched the grill out

Vader, I actually like and considered the CLK55, but didn't like the frmaeless windows.

same here, it just makes me feel that I should also be wearing a big gold MB emblem around me neck w/ a kangoi hat!! :p

The grill is easy to install with a few hand tools (wrenches or sockets).

I'm sure your aware that the C55 front end is different from any other W203? Right? If not, then you should know the C55s from is not the same as any other W203 C class. Its the W209 CLK front. This grill will not fit other W203s. There are some look alikes that will.
