I would assume that at the end of the day it all comes down to the ecu.

You can have better cams and what not but if its not tuned right you might not be using all the motors potential.

There really arent many(if any) dyno results to prove how a c43 with a 5.4 puts the power down with a stock ecu....

I have no idea how much power my car is putting down right now. I havent seen a dyno from a c43 with a 2002 ml55 motor.

It should be between 340-360 at the motor and up to 370-380tq

Some international market M113.980 engines has the front smog pump under the front AMG plastic cover.
My euro C43 does not have this round black pump installed as my car only has 2x o2 sensors.
My question is ONLY for you who don't have this pump on your engine which means your car has less poluting restrictions than other market cars.

# Do intake manifold gasket differ between engines fitted with a smog pump and engines NOT fitted with this smog pump?
The partsnumber I have found for an intake manifold gasket is A113 141 09 80.

# What engine has this gasket fitted, the smog engine or non smog engine

# A113 141 09 80 manifold gasket is it the same partsnumber for left/right side fittings?

You can see the attached picture where this pump is installed.

Smog pump gaskets should be differ than non-Smog pump,

if Engine comes with Smog pump & Shut-off valves, the gaskets should comes different,

gaskets are the same for both sides,,

I think (4) O2 sensors with cluster CEL for U.S only,,

Euro/Japanese/South Africa got (2) O2 sensors without cluster CEL..!

In my friends car, the stock C43 ECU (with 5.4l swap) did 285 rwhp and 310 torque with a near perfect A/F. He sent his ECU to SpeedTuning USA to have them flash a E55 Performance map onto the ECU. The results under similar conditions on the dyno were 280 rwhp and 292 torque. The A/F was way off as well. Second run was 257 rwhp and 300 torque, A/F being way off again.

He went back to the stock C43 ECU tune.

How much is that at the motor??

Also what tune is out there for our stock ecu with a 5.4 that would actually increase the figures?

Excuse my lack of knowledge on the subject

No problem,

until this moment; i didn't see any significant increase with HP/TQ with ECU tune, tried many tuners for C43/C43/55 swap, they gives foolish #s, with 0 gain or less than stock..!,

dyno is not always prove for increasing #s, advertising is the main POINT>!<

i think the better ECU/TCU tune just for models from 01, with ME2.8/EGS52..!!??!!

A friend just got a 98 c43 with a 5.4 swap and the car is mint.

The car pulls a lot nicer and it has a almost perfect throttle response. Its is very linear and fast compared to mine.

Im trying to figure out why my car lags every time i press the throttle.

I can press the pedal and wait a second or so before the car starts pulling. It has power but it lags. The throttle on my friends car is amazing. It always pulls no matter what rpm

Is it time for a new MAF or maybe throttle response sensor?

did you neglect servicing your car for a long time?
if you only drive her and NOT service her, she will eventually fail on you!

did you change the wear n tear parts?
plugs, maybe wires, MAF, maybe you have a vaccum leak somewhere, clogged fuelfilter etc etc?

As Denis says, have you serviced recently the C43? A MAF does wear out. I changed mine and it made a difference. Fuel filter also needs to be changed from time to time, specially if you use cheap gas from supermarkets, etc.

I changed the fuel filter recently but i dont think the MAF was ever changed.

I did my swap less than 5k ago and i did all the basic maintenance.

Im gonna swap mafs with my friend and see if it makes a difference

when you put the stick in D while standing still waiting for take off.
what's the correct RPM's?
is it 500 RPM - 750 or maybe 900 RPM's?

is it good if needle sometimes drops to 500 RPM's?

does RPM in stand still differ between stock C43 engine and after a 55 engine swap or is it still the same RPM's like the above numbers for both engines, stock vs engine swap?

how would you describe the characteristics between both engines?
is c43 engine mellow yellow and 55 engine is ferocius filled with short temper?
