2000 C43 Avantgarde Grille?
I'm trying to locate a genuine C43 avantgarde grille, part#B6 688 0127. I know it is $260 USD as every site that I order it from refunds my payment due to it being no longer available. The Schaetz tuning grille is German manufactured and the Bekkers grille is from Taiwan. I ordered the URO W210 grille but decided to return it as the quality was less than sub par. Does anyone have any ideas? Thx

202-880-04-83 is what you are looking for. True Avantgarde grille. from germany. I knowcause i bought 2 of them last year.
B6 688 0127 is the shell modification of the grille.

Thank you as I'm aware of it being only the modified shell. I still have my genuine frame and wanted the avantgarde insert. I didn't want to spend $600+ as opposed to $260 for the shell only. where did you purchase them from? Dealer? Thx

Dude i got it from MBBH (beverly Hills), but to be honest, I helped another member here that is local who made his "True" grille. Basically the grille is a trimmed-cut Pre-w210 grille with the w202 frame fit to stay grille I have pics of the 202-880-04-83 in the box, in the package and the back does say 210-888-01-23

I understand that Mercedes pre cut the W210 grille and fitted it into a W202 frame. I have looked at an aftermarket W210 shell and it appeared very difficult to trim as the strongest parts would be cut. This would render the shell very flimsy. Perhaps a genuine W210 shell would be much easier. Can you send me the pics? I found a link that had a tutorial on how to fit it but, the link is dead.

I checked out that part# and it does not include the vertical and horizontal chrome strips. Correct?

My factory W202 grille only has the passenger (right) side as I'm in Canada. The driver's (left) side is not covered. The URO W210 grille had the same side covered and the driver's side was not. Hope that helps.

i got a 2000 OEM model avantgarde grille for my car
it came with passenger side dust cover which was a thin strip
on drivers side I had to place my factory dust cover
chrome grille looks so much better than plastidip crapped out grilles because it's difficult to get an even layer of spraypaint without getting water drops coming out of the nozzle
plastidip doesn't give perfect sprays

Seems like there are a few genuine avantgarde grilles on ebay right now. Could be fakes, but they are in the ~$300 range. I was actually looking for one and ended up buying this. Depending on the look, I may ditch it and go for the oem. Let's see.

if it's a genuine grille from MB, it has a STAR stamped on the bottom part chrome surroundings and a partsnumber and star casted on the backside of the plastic strips of the grille
if someone can photoshop that gangstah grille onto a c43 it might look good or maybe not?

Still think it has too many slats? OEM Grille? I see a MB stamp, LOL. I think it looks pretty good, decide to keep it on. Can't believe there is so much ice outside!!! I went out there and slapped it on anyway LOL.

Why do you want to keep the rubber flaps? I removed them on both sides to improve air flow to the intake. The only draw back to this mod is the filters need to be cleaned more often, but I consider that secondary compared to the better "ram air" effect.

not the ones that attach to the slats of the grill. the ones that attach to the roof of the hood. there were two rubber guards to prevent scratching

did you have to take the drivers side plastic **** cover which is fitted behind the grille from your old non Av-grille when you got the Avantgarde insert or did this cover come included come with purchase?
non V8 cars only have dust cover on passengers side.
if your drivers side **** cover fall off the grille-fasteners, this will eventually happen from vibrations when you drive your car, you can drill some small holes on this cover and ziptie the cover to vertical grille bars, make sure you align the cover on back of the grille b4 you drill and mark the holes where to drill.
that's what i had to do when i got my OEM Avantgarde grille, only came with passengers side dust cover

Yeah SOrry about the bunch of pics... I was trying to put them in one small size didn't work. As for the Grille, it came like that from the motherland. So that is what a True Genuine Avantgarde grille will look like from MB. Anyone says otherwise is not true, I have 2 of them
