No Dennis, i even have the last ECU # in my early 1998 C43, and using it now,
CLK430/E430/ML430 using differ ECU than C43/E55, but C43 & E55 sharing the same ECU,
prefer to use the stock one, and let it adapt,,
will not get any benefit if replace it, rather than loosing Time & $$$$...!!!

i will NOT touch the ecu on your recommendations, i will only let new motor adapt to stock ecu
