Did you change the plugs when the covers where off? So much easier to do as access to those critters suddenly becomes greater

Don't forget the perfect tool for removing the plug boots is an open ended 17mm wrench which has been suitable bent to fit. A non bent open 17mm will also work (it has for me...) but you have to be careful not to snap the plug (it can happen).

torque specs
Sup guys! what's the torque spec on the valve covers? I read somewhere it's 72 inch lbs, is this correct?
And also what's the torque specs on the baffle's?
I'll be replacing the valve cover gaskets / reseal the baffles / replacing spark plug and wires soon...just waiting on parts.

yep i've probably done 100 of them, sometimes that sealer is a real pain to get off. and i'm even using a hot solvent tank for most of it. But it feels real nice when it's all back together and clean.
Also it's good to make sure you blast off and blow out all the crud that is sitting directly above the valve cover on the head before removing the cover, so that doesn't fall into the head when the cover is removed.
