C36 gearbox problem

Hello guys

When I bought my car it used to slip from 3rd to forth gear for about 500rpm. Since a rebuilt was 3k in euro I decided to buy another transmission from ebay. After install it shifts smooth however the kickdown doesnt work properly. When it should go to first it goes to second. And when it should go to second it goes to third. Under WOT it shifts at 5900 instead of redline.

Now I discovered the following:

On the datenkarte of my c36 it reads: 722424 for the transmission. Which is a c280 transmission(built date 1995-10-25) I never knew they used this box also in the C36.

The box I bought and installed is the 722.328 which is the one I thought all c36´s with 4-spd have. Apparently it came with two different boxes.
my suspicion is that my c36 has a different differential. Could this have something to do with my transmission not working properly.

I really wouldn´t like to sell this car. She costed me alot but I just love the car. maybe some of you could help me

C36 AMG
Unhappy

I'M NO EXPERT,BUT I HAVE A '97 C36 AND I HAVE SOME EXPENSIVE SOUNDING CLUNKS AND RUMBLES AT THE BACK, AND I SUSPECTED THE DIFF' WAS ON THE WAY OUT.
IN MY SEARCH FOR A REPLACEMENT,I READ THAT THE STOCK C280 DIFF' COULD NOT HANDLE THE EXTRA POWER FROM THE BIGGER ENGINE.
TRY GOOGLING "C36 DIFFERENTIAL RATIO".
HOPE THAT HELPS MATE!!!

Currently I am adjusting the bowden cable wich will make sure that the shift timing is right. After that I have to adjust the modelator valve of the tranmission. That might solve the problem! I found out I dont have a wrong differential, so I dont have to look for the solution for my problem over there. I will get this fixt! Dont want to sell the c36, just love the car to much.
