1996 C36 wiring harness ... How much time should it take to take it out?
Hi -
I have to replace the wiring harness on my '96 C36; I know a guy who can rebuild it, but I have to get it out of the car; I plan to ask my local MB dealer to do it ... How much time should it take? At a 129$/h rate, I just want to be sure that it will cost me more than the value of the harness itself ...
Thanks.

Took me about 3 hours to remove my old one and replace it with a new one and I was a novice then. But it doesn't matter if you're paying the dealer to do it. Their system has a set number of hours that job takes and no matter how quickly the tech can do it they will charge you the rate the computer displays.

Sulaco can you advise where I find the wiring harness "tag/label?" It appears to be in great shape and car was obviously garaged, but I'm still curious where/what to look for to see it was replaced by previous original owner. I thought I read in one of the threads to look for Delphi as they replaced MB harnesses once problem was known, but again can't find tag/label. I know once I do find tag to look for part # 2025400332
Thanks!
Thanks!
It sounds like you already have the upgraded one perhaps.

I'm just curious (piece of mind) and other reason is I'm considering buying another one so want to know where exactly to look on one I'm considering as a bargaining chip if it's an old harness.
