C43/36 vs other Mercedes you've owned

As the post says guys, share about what other Mercedes vehicles you've owned and how they compare to your c43/36. I have had a total of 4 Mercedes including my C43. I will list them in order and would say out of all the C43 is probably my favorite with my CLK55 being a close second. The C43 and W202 chassis in general feels like a well built special car. To me the C43 just builds on the 202 already good chassis with a burly V8 and its wolf in sheep's clothing demeanor, while staying refined. I would say performance wise my CLK55 had a obvious numbers advantage and it felt quite sporty and solid. But I guess just the fact that the C43 has that old Mercedes traditional build quality and the simple fact it seems like I never see another on the road makes it feel a little more special and unique.

Here are my previous Benz's in order, some of the pics aint great, but you get the idea.

My 1995 c280, Rare color combo, started the 202 addiction

Not a great pic, but sold the 95 for this 1999 c280 sport, great car. Sold it to a buddy and the dummy totaled it being stupid

My 2004 CLK55, Nicest car in general I've ever owned, really regret selling it.

And my current car, we all know they are great.

So, lets see em guys!

05 c55 silver, 98 Imperial Red C43
I love the c280 sport. Its such an elegant car in my opinion. Having a color matched trim on a 202 makes all the difference for me.

Ive owned nothing but 202s. 94 c280, 95c36, 2000 c280 and 98 c43 currently but ive driven a few other benzes including a w211 e55, w203 c230 coupe, g500, sl500 v12....it doesnt matter. There is just no other car that compared to a c43 to me and i dont know exactly why. I drove a c32 and its not even close honestly. Its like a car from a different planet when compared to a c32.

The only car i would like in the same way i like my c43 is a c63 i think even though i havent driven one...... unless of course i could afford more expensive toys

you can resize images in paint program on your computer there are different options available.
good thing is to downsize picture to 40-50%, try which size you like.
then click save.

then re-upload pictures on this forum

1996 C36 AMG and 1999 BMW e46
Prior to my C36, I have owned 7 w201's. Number 4 was my favorite-

I owned numbers 5 & 6 during the time that I had #4.

I've also had a w124 wagon.

The C36 is by far the most fun to drive. I do however feel that the quality of the 201's was better than the 202's. The AMG's are better quality than the regular 202's, but still not as good as the 201 in joy opinion. Would I trade my C36 for one? No. But I would love to have another!

Haha, that was me. The two different size/shape side mirrors on the 201's always bothered my OCD, and I also wanted folding mirrors, so I retrofitted those ones. I thought they looked pretty good, lol. I also added cup holders from an e36 BMW-

daem man!
you defiled the STAR by putting Beemer parts on your w201 car!
the odd right side mirror was cool on w201, that way you would know which is left VS right if and when you were drunk?

however DUI is no good under any traffic circumstances!

Better than screwing some ebay cup holders to the door panels though, lol. The mirrors always bugged be, and I am not a "No drinks in the car" type person. I wanted functional cup holders, that looked as if they could have been factory. BMW was the best option

AMG
ive had one other MB and it is parked next to the c43...superwagon w/ double the HP. The carbon ceramic brakes are the feature that most often surprises and delights.

Carlsson CM60 EX:C36AMG'96
cool thread.
I have had only one car besides the c36s. A w204 C250 AMG pack.
It is a great car to drive to work etc, however it lacks that special feel you get in a W202AMG. not much to say about the c250 I rather drive my c36 or any of these c43 on here.

I do have a question for the C43 owners on here. How do you guys think about the C55? I really like the car and think of it as a newer version of the C43. It still feels special.

C36 AMG
I've owned only one before my '96 C36 and that was a 1995 C280, that was another great car with a great engine aswell but like most everyone mentioned already there's just no comparing to a W202AMG, Everytime I drive my C36 AMG you just get that special vib from the car and it ALWAYS puts a smile on my face.

My mom started it, with her mint 1992 300e w124. The w124 is the "most classic' Benz chassis to me. But my favorite is the w202, obviously.

First was 94 C280 with 14k miles. I put 250k miles on that thing. Absolutely fantastic car. Far simpler than my C43 but it was just magical. I miss it greatly.

My C43 is lightyears ahead of it in most ways, of course. I can't imagine not driving a C43 from now on.
