Original Bumper?
I just broke my bumper again, not too bad, but I decided to get a replacement aftermarket. Fits great! The shop didn't do a good job though so I am fixing it and I still need to do one more adjustment before I post pictures or maybe I go to a shop where they give a s*it about doing a good job.
Anyway, this is the old bumper (which I think is aftermarket) but the shop told me that this original AMG. How can I tell?
Thanks!

how did you break your bumper, did you hit a curb or did you hit something on the road?
these cars are low on vogtland springs better watch out for stuff on the streets when you drive!
how much is a brand new bumper from stealership?

I forgot, I saw one at the shop down the street from me and looked original so I ordered they did the job and looked so good I forgot to ask. (changing jobs so I was not stressing out about the bumper) but I will find out and let you know when I post pics.
Paid $300+$300 for painting and install+installing all "new" 6 lights

Bumper got caught on a rebar the first time and ripped out from one side. Then two weeks ago it caught on a concrete parking block. Got pissed and just got an aftermarket one.

Bumper is AMG, I'm definitely going to fix it, but I'll freakin' do it and will do an awesome job. I may keep it in case I sell the car.

Whatever you do, don't let that original bumper go!
Ask me how I know they're becoming impossible to find. I had to buy one used from Zayed in United Arab Emirates!
And Dennis there are no new ones at the stealership. A member here has bought the very last new C43 bumper in the US!
And in case anyone needs this info in the future: the mounting bracket inside the bumper (the big black skeleton of the bumper that runs throughout) cannot be bought new. AMG had to modify regular w202 brackets to fit the C43 bumper. If you damage your bracket, be prepared to figure out how to make a new one fit!

All the stuff here in the US is crap! (eBay, Duraflex, etc.)
Yes, shipping is expensive, but you'll make up the difference in a good-fitting replacement when it comes time at the body shop.

Dennis, can you check and see if euro bumpers are still available? What about a good, aftermarket replacement?

I had a feeling these bumpers are not made anymore.
Thank you Sulaco!

i've seen some bumpers on c43 cars where bumpers sag a bit from front fenders.
it's hanging and there's a gap between top part of bumper vs lower part on front fender edge.
is it the bumper skeleton that goes bad making the bumper sag or what's going on?
why doesn't bumper stay in place perfectly aligned?

Agree with you Dennis,
brackets goes weak during age, especially sides, it's happen to me once, i put blade screws in the ends of bumper(attached to the fender),,
NO hesitation at alllllllllll...

When I bought my C43 a couple years ago, it came with an aftermarket front bumper...pic in the thread below:

According to the parts guy at a local MB dealership, the bumper bracket is the same part amd same thing as the non amg one and the front bumper is available. Its $1200 for one and it takes a few days to get shipped
