H&R Sway Bars on a C-43
Does anyone use the H&R Sway Bars on their C-43?
Especially in an area like LA where the roads are crap....
I'm interested in getting a feel for if they would be over kill or make the car handle better without becoming too harsh.
If you know, do you need to buy additional aftermarket product to make them work?
I'm running Vogtlands / Bilstein Sports with stock links etc....
Thanks in advance for your input!
Happy New Year to all!

these are the partsnumbers for US market H&R swaybars for C43AMG
front: 70749-2
rear: 71749-1
seems like these swaybars are not sold in Germany for C43?
would this kit fit C43?
swaybar front is 28mm thick
rear is 18mm thick.
would all w202 have the same size swaybars?

german ebay link is for w202 and w208 with 6 cylinder engines.
there are no h&r swaybars in germany for v8 cars, these are only sold in USA.
therefore my question about swaybar thickness of 28mm/16mm, is it the same for all w202?
what's the difference between regular w202 and w202 AMG if they both share the same size bars?
same thing with vogtland springs #952079, these are listed for US market c43.
in germany these springs are only sold for c280 model not w202 AMG.
i put these on my car anyway even if they are not listed for C43.
and the ride is soo smooth.

there are no H&R swaybars for C43 sold in Germany, these are only available in the United States of America.
you americans are some lucky dudes getting all the special goodies, same thing goes for Vogtland springs, these are also not sold for C43 in Germany.
i can only use stock swaybars for now.
i loev my ride it's so smooth on good tarmac, she is so tight and firm wellplanted on the road, a lill' nip n tuck here n there gave her a new attitude on the road.
no more flubber hanging of her skirt

I think few people with C43's have aftermarket sway bars because the aftermarket options are the same size as the largest off-the-shelf aftermarket bars.
I had a set of aftermarket bars made, 32mm front and 22mm rear (vs factory 28/18mm). I fitted the rear bar and was happy with the handling change so I never fitted the front bar. In hindsight maybe just a 20mm rear bar would have been the better option as the rear end is a little too tight on rough roads.
It really depends what sort of driving you're doing rather than "bigger is better". I recently fitted a set of H&R supersport springs but use the largest spring pads to maintain the factory ride height. I was stunned to discover that my lap times on my track day circuit to be 2-3seconds a lap slower with the 55 engine vs previous times with the 43 engine. After a lot of video comparison to work it out I found the apex speeds had dropped greatly despite the end of straight speeds being higher. Because it was a bumpy low grip track with flowing corners the stiffer suspension reduced the total grip. If it was a smooth circuit with tightly space corners or autox style driving they would have been better suited.

Thank you all for the input.
Tough decision for the roads where I live are crap and if the bars are too tight, the ride is too rough.... A delicate balance of a great machine....
Thanks again,
FBS
