Was this something you could order from the factory? it seems like it would be a lot of work and money to do all this independently.

Eghh Salvaged. Im always sketchy unless its me who got it.
Probably got hit, took the salvaged title and the cash and converted .
Interior is really nice though but faking the badge kills it.

love that interior color, but the salvage title gives up the ghost. absolutely no way it had that C43 body kit on it before whatever happened to it to cause the salvage title.
also, those wheels did not exist in 1997.
edit: why haven't any of us pointed out that the C43 did not even exist in 1997, either?? no way that was a factory optioned car. ****, I don't think the dealer ever offered a C43 body kit, even in 1999-2000 when I was looking at the dealer book for cosmetic upgrades for my 1994 C280, the ONLY options they had were C36 kits WITH full c36 exhaust for a total of 3600 parts only.

Not only that, but IIRC no c43 in the US ever had a radio antenna on the rear fender; I believe they integrated it into the rear windshield on all facelifted w202 models.
That being said, the quality of work is exceptional. I kind of want to see this car in person now lol

This definetly looks like factory work. The carpets are tan and the door panels are two tone. Its way too into detail to be custom work.
Its a earlier model 202 for sure. Ive never seen one with that interior. My sister has a tan interior w202 but its a lot brighter than that. This is a lot nicer

Nice "Tribute" car. Personally I would remove the C43 and AMG badges. Otherwise I think it looks very nice. Price is high considering the salvage.

i'm gonna be straight up honest here, I do not like the direction MB is going anymore. I guess I'm getting old. I've had issues with plenty of their design decisions but now their styling decisions are just lost on me. Even the idea behind changing their naming patterns and all these insane _LS or _LA crap. Too much going on!

My 95 c280 had that exact same interior, If this car was cheaper and a c280 I would buy it as a daily driver and park my 43. Looking for a c280 sport actually so I can park the 43. As far as current benz stying, I actually think the brand new c e and s are closer to the old styling than the past few years. I saw a new c400 the other day and it is a gorgeous car in person and has a very imposing energy to it. Than again I saw a 500e the other day as well and that car got me just as excited if not more, it was super clean too.

Why not get this c230? Im sure hed negotiate and plus youd get a spare c43 kit. You can get a non amg kit for cheap if you had to use the c43 kit off this car. Ive seen this car. I think they used to live across from my wife's family. Its looks super nice

I thought about it, but even with all the options I think its priced high for a salvage car. if he did more like 3000 or 3500 I may be interested. But I also would just like that little more punch the v6 in the c280 has, I was actually considering this one, It looks a little rough but my friend has a body shop so the bumper doesnt worry me. Plus its a year 2000 which arent that common.

Yeah, I drove a 1994 C280 for 13 years before I got my 43. A big part of me wants to get another pre-update C280 to park my 43's once I can afford to really restore them the way I intended all along. Something really simple, clean, and classic about a good 94-96 C280.
