Are you in the Chicago area? I've read some not so great things about LogicLab, not that a couple opinions dictate how they are, just be aware. But congrats on the 55 swap! Are you going to dyno it, did you have a baseline?

Edit: I see your first post states you're in SC, my bad.

My engine is also from a ml55 year 2002.

I had to swap the harness from old motor on mine. Im assuming you had to do the same thing?

Would be really curious to know how much power the car puts down now because the difference really is obvious.

Like you said, its possible to spin tires rolling in first

Yup did the same. Swapped harness and used my intake incase there was water etc inside the used one. But question? Have you noticed the 55 running slightly warmer than the 43? No where overheating or anything. Just noticed. And also i never remember my condenser fans ever coming on at idle when warmed up with out the a/c being on. Its not a bad thing but just never heard them come on before unless my ac was on.

Also very curious to know the power difference as well. I was wondering what kind of tune they used on the 43 over the 430. Had to be more aggressive for the higher power so i was wondering if thats a benefit when putting the 55 in on the 43 software. Im thinking its more aggressive than we may think. Just a thought

The engine operating temperature seems to be the same for me and it takes about the same amount of time to fully warm up too.

I do think that the 5.4 swapped c43 makes a little more than we think. I havent had a chance to test it out against anyone yet.
Did you reflash your ecu or just plug in and go?

When i had the 4.3 in, the two front fans would turn on very often. I never had issues with overheating.

With the 5.4 in, i havent heard them yet

Just performed boot strapping. Reset all adapations. Do you notice your condenser fans running when it starts to get warm at idle?

Ill have to check but i cant hear them. Do they run at different speeds or is it always full on and loud when it runs.

When i had the 4.3 at one point the fans were on constantly from start till i shut the car down and it was very anoying. Engjne temperature was always normal too

what's a boot strapping?
is it to clear all codes then reset all adaptions to zero then ecu has to re-learn the new engine?

do ML55 113981 engine have higher torque on lower rpm's than w210E55 AMG 113980?

this thread is making my mouth water. I can't wait for a 5.4 in mine!

My 4.3 also has wicked timing chain rattle. What's involved in a chain swap? I've done the head gasket on an m104. Please tell me it's not THAT bad.

My 43 would rattle all the time but not loud only bugged me..the 55 engine i just got only does it for a few minutes until it gets a little warmer and goes away. Plan on doing the chain in a few weeks probably. And it isnt too hard but if you want to do it the easier way youll need the Mercedes chain tool...well that being said youll need it either way. One way is to remove valve cover...break chain...put new chain inline with old chain via special link and have a couple ppl help and turn the engine over by hand to roll the new chain in...then remove old chain and special link and use special tool to crimp new chain link ends together. Or the other way is take the front cover off etc to expose front of engine and do it that way by aligning all timing marks...will still need special tool to crimp new chain link ends together

I think mine does this rattle also.

Its there when car is started while being really cold. Goes away after a minute or so
