Good to know, i just wasnt sure what all is behind there, since Im getting a carbon trim facelift, i figured it would be good timing to add this head unit to update the entire look and feel of the console

Heres mine. Its a little worn out. I had to refinish the face and glue one corner.
My goal honestly is to take it out and bring it all back to stock.
I do like having the aux cable tho. I can plug in my phone and play anything.

NON command units -
You can buy a converter cable that plugs into the back of the head unit cd changer outlet and gives you an AUX 3.5mm input that you can tuck in your glove box or up from your cup holder to plug in your iPhone or iPad or any Audi device .Then you just tap the CD button and done.

That sounds really clever my only drawback is I absolutely despise wires hanging around the consul I'm using a cassette right now and I hate that the wire is just hanging around my shift knob

I'm with you on hanging wires. Routed my V1 wiring through the panels & hard wired it behind the cigarette lighter. The dummy cassette has no wires, but I did route the AUX cable behind the radio then down and out the center console (the left side of the shifter & panel assembly) down by your right knee. It's a bit cleaner imo. You could also use a Bluetooth cassette. I considered this, but it wasn't available at the time, so I don't have any personal experience.

I searched for that too lol but 6 hours of charge is good enough for me plus it appears that the USB port is accesible to plug in while playing (if needed)
I would rather charge it here and there then have a cord hanging out like a tampon string on my knob , I despise wires
