Driver's Door Key Hole?

After getting robbed this past December, the thieves were back again. They were obviously hoping that everything was replaced and ready for the taking. This time they decided to try to break into my C43 in hopes of moving it from in front of my shed. They jammed a screwdriver into the driver's door lock, completely destroying it. My question is, does this mean that all the locks, ignition, keys, etc. need to be replaced? My keyfob unlocks the door but, the door handle won't open the door. The parts would have to be purchased new from a dealership, correct? Thx

Good thing that I installed two nightvision motion cams last Sunday.

Wow. That's awful, sorry to hear. Hopefully the footage will help you get those a**holes off street.

sorry to hear about your problems
last time you got robbed, did you have your car at home?
thieves planned to take your car the 2nd time they planned to rob you.
did you install strong spotlights with motion sensors around your property?

you only need to replace door cylinder nothing else

What about the issue of the handle not releasing the door when pulled? Also, what about the keys, etc.? Thx

something inside the doorlock or doorhandle mechanism doesn't work properly therefore no reliese

now you have to enter the passengers side everytime.
can you open the drivers door from the inside?
unscrew and remove the doorhandle and lock to inspect possible problems

Exactly! The door opens from the inside only as the exterior handle will no longer release. I removed the exterior handles before when I stripped the car down for painting. I was advised by the insurance company to not touch it and have my choice of shop look at it. I would rather do it myself as we all know how certain shops take things apart and reassemble them.
