Trade: CL600 for your C36/C43 + cash difference

Just like my title says, anyone got a C36/C43 + cash difference to trade for my clean title 03' CL600 with 78K miles + extended warranty? Need to get into a family car but want to be an AMG atleast

Absolutely not interested in letting one of my C43's go right now. I just came here to vouch for its abilities as a family car. Man, wife, 3 year old, and a 1 year old. We get along just fine with our C43's. Very tame and comfortable family car that can transform to a muscle car with a push of the pedal.

Yup, it's what I need, a small luxury sedan with some kick!

HA...yea noooo thanks. I work on these cars everyday and the last car you want to come in to work on is a 600...65's sure are fun to drive but you have to have COIN to keep them. And one with that many miles or any miles for that matter is scary, especially an early one. Just had to do $16,000 dollars worth of work to an 03 S600 to fix a misfire of an owner of an NFL football team and it only had 45,000 miles on it. and this wasn't its first big $ repair. Needless to say we convinced him to sell it and he did right away and bought a brand new S65. V12's are a nightmare. and im sure every response you get back with be a respectfully No....Id say with what ive done to mine...55 conversion and all. you'd be needing to trade plus give me money...not the other way around. OUR W202's will forever outlast a 03CL

My 99 C43 didn't need anything except a water pump at 275,000 miles.

^I've got 2 year extended warranty on the CL600 and just like any car, preventative maintenance goes a long way. Don't knock the CL600 until you've owned a properly cared one like mine

Theres more than just "preventative" maintenance that you still cant avoid with a V12 And that extended warranty has a cap around 12k and who knows how much youve already had done under the extended warranty. As stated im an MB dealer tech and I dont need to own one to know, ive worked on 100's of v12s from the cleanest of clean to junk and even i who can fix them would still probably never buy a V12..if it were anything but a v12 id be way more open to the idea. Not trying to be harsh but just being honest.

Didn't ask for your opinion. If you are not interested simply don't post

Your 55 C43 is nowhere close to being worth a straight trade for my CL600 plus I wouldn't be interested in someone's "project" anyways.

wouldn't think a lot of people on here who have done that swap consider that a "project". and simply if you don't want peoples opinions then don't post. and we'll all still be driving our very rare "projects" everyday when your still trying to dump you V12.

many peepol tend to buy luxury cars for cheap because pricetag was low.
when car fails and it has to be fixed at the dealership they can't afford paying for service and they want to get rid of the car instead.
many newer Benzitos had huge failure with airmatic suspension or the lousy SBC brakes, owners got a shock when they ask for how much it costs to fix these problems.
they ditch the car instead

buying cheap luxury high maintanence cars isn't always a good thing to do if car has hidden problems?

I posted here in a slim chance someone wanted to upgrade to a CL600 and I've advertised elsewhere so I'm not stuck in a rut.

Opinions are welcomed especially on a forum but when someone (like you) out of the blue starts bashing someone's post it gets a little annoying especially if this person joined only a few months ago and has 35 posts

Don't worry, when I "dump" my V12 I'll report back here with a clean OEM C36/C43.

Good luck in your search. Have you driven a C36/43? I will say that the back seat is a little cramped for two adults but should be fine for two kids. I might consider a W210 E55 AMG for a little more space if the intent was to make room for a family.

Oh and "someone like me" just happens to be MB Master Certified and has years of experience working on these vehicles helps. Both in and out of the dealer.

About a year ago, the guys over at Edmunds did a stupid, stupid thing. They bought a used 2005 Mercedes-Benz CL65 AMG, sans warranty. The car was once $180,000 and has a 6.0L twin-turbocharged V12 engine that makes 604 horsepower and 738 lb-ft of torque. In other words, it’s a time bomb on wheels.
