Well my engine number is for the stock c43 engine. So no c55 upgrade. But it's still cool to me.

we'll get the 5.4l motor and drop it in there that will make here even more special with the euro setup! There bigger 5.5l motors are now going for dirt cheap.

Well guys, doesn't look like I'm gonna be able to title this car in NC. The dmv wants me to get the original certification paperwork from when it came to the U.S. so that's imposinle looks like. Anyway, it may be for sale. It has a legal Georgia title now. Anyome interested let know. Thanks

That's bogus. I'd have thought they'd just transfer the georgia title over. Only problem I could see you having is when they do the emissions test and don't find a CEL.
I'd love to take it off you if it wouldn't put me in the same predicament. Pretty sure this is the only parktronic car I've seen in the US since joining here

Well that's what I would've thought. With outta state salvage NC has to do a vin verification to make sure it's not stolen and whatever. But when they run this vin it comes back as not conformed. Whatever that means. So he won't issue the verification until I get proof that it's been federalized or whatever. nc salvage laws I guess

From personal experience I can tell you it's more likely you talked to the wrong person or the wrong office. There are always multiple completely legal pathways that none of those government employees will bother to educate you on. Find someone in your state who deals with imported vehicles and ask their advice. Offer to pay them a fee to handle it for you, if you like. THese things happen all the time and there's always a way (unless it's stolen).

how many previous owners did this car have?
can you track them down going backwards starting with owner before you?

someone must have all legal documents for this car.
if you bought this car from auction, they must provide you with documents, can't you sue their a$$es?

It's defin not stolen. I have the title and the vins match. It does have 2 vins still on the car. Door jam and under seat on chassis. I'm gonna do a little more research and see what I can come up with. I'm not sure how to locate the past owners though. Only name on title is gieco insurance. And of course they won't tell me anything about the previous owner.

daem you're in a complicated situation.
somebody imported this car from europe then evertything is a blur for you.
do you know how long this car has been in the US?

this car is not road legal without number plates.
if you can't get her legal only thing you can do is to turn her into a racecar and track her

I think this is excellent advice. Seek someone who deals with imported vehicles!

I'm sure someone will be. A price would be a good start.

Also, I spoke to someone who handles this stuff for the feds. He clarified 2 things:

The car has not been certified for US import. To be certified it would need these modifications performed by a certified importing business: http://www.regulations.gov/#!documen...1999-6039-0001

All considered it's light changes except for reinforcing beams in the doors, but just swapping doors with any US w202 would suffice instead of welding beams in place.

However he stated that none of this matters on a state level. It means nothing. He said pretty much every state except California has multiple pathways to get around this certification. One must simply talk to the right people/department at the corresponding state. Might even need to talk to Georgia to see what they have on file.

How many miles? Do you still have the GA title from previous owner? I'll investigate if it can be titled in TN and look for a buyer here. I already have 2 and absolutely can't buy a third one. Though I wish...

Any issues with the car? What's working, what's barely working, what's not working, etc. Any service history?
