brake pad wear sensors (help)
do the pad wear sensors HAVE to be replaced with new pads?
ive searched and cant seem to find an answer.
im in the middle or swapping my pads and rotors and we just plugged the sensors back in on the front on the new pads. but also when we pulled the sensor a little part of the plastic tab right at the sensor broke off, the metal clip is still there and it holds in place but wasnt sure if any extra vibration or whatever would cause false triggers.
are thes sensors one time use and i need new ones now?
also, my BAS light is on and my rotors were below spec but pad wear was still ok. putting on the new pads and rotors now and just wanted to know if i need to put new sensors on as well before we put it all back together.
thanks for anyone who knows the answer!

Are you replacing pads with Rotors, or just pads..??
these sensors comes with plastic tabs, it's little bit weak, prefer to replace them with every brake replacement..!

Yes pads and rotors.
I noticed the plastic parts broke when we pulled the sensors. They still hold when we out them back. But the light was on before we started the job.
If they aren't working properly it just triggers the light in the dash right? Does not disable abs?
Just want to k ow that if I need to replace them I can do it next week or something if I need to order them. I have autocross this weekend just want to make sure the bad wear sensors won't affect brakes or if I can do the steering wheel reset trick.

Pads sensors doesn't affect to brakes or ABS/BAS..!, they are there just to warning you about wear pads,,
try to do steering angle reset, then see is lights will go or not..!!

You do not need to replace them, you can reuse. You can even leave them unplugged and they will not turn a light on.
The bas light has nothing to do with brake wear sensors, you have a problem there that needs diagnosing. Likely a stop lamp switch.
