Group buy on EC shorty headers
https://mbworld.org/forums/clk55-amg...-sale-now.html
Just spoke to the guys at EC about their new shorty headers and they WILL fit the W208 (w202) and W209. This shortie no need for tune.
These should fit the W202 C43 as well
Group buy as follows:
15 people = 485 + shipping
10 people = 585 + shipping

If they fit the W208 55 and W202 C43 I'm definitely in. The pics are for a W209, are we 100% sure they also have a set for the W208?
Preference would be for a header that it a complete bolt on to the factory system and has thick wall tubes and good welds. Mild steel would be fine, I don't what to have to be fixing cracked headers ever!

we need a guinea pig testing these headers first.
@ sick430 if you get them at a massive discounted price, make the tests for us then we know for sure if they are any good?
I might buy these?
if they are like Kleeman MK2 which means made in China quality, it's a big no no!

if we know FOR SURE that they will fit the C43 without any modification to other parts of the exhaust system or relocating this or that part, etc, then i would be interested.
a couple other questions:
1. how much is the "normal price" without a group buy?
2. is there any historical data for power gains? even if its on a 55 stock engine? this is still a fair amount of money plus install costs, the same amount of money can buy a tune that is supposed to give us +25 hp, so just asking for reference, if its only +10hp then no way for me.
***edit: actually clicked your link this time... :-)
regular sale price is $600
claiming 7-10% power gains for NA engine so that would be 21-30hp for us?
so hard for me to decide if this and a tune to get maybe 50hp is worth $1000

as how i see those headers now i dont believe they fit the W202/W208.
the manifold from the E55/CLK also dont fit the W202 so i can not believe this model will.
it needs to have an extra bend which guids it towards the gearbox.
middle and right are E55 , the left is from my old M113 4.3 engine.
as u see this one has a longer outlet(pipe) then the "55" ones.
so imo this can never be a fit...
see the difference in lenght where the outlet is..

Will talk to EC today to see if I can work something out with them and get a set to test for everyone. I am not affiliated with EC, just trying to get a good price for everyone.

u for sure do a good thing.
but the header showed in the link in the first post will deffinately not fit our car.
u see the outlet is next to one of the exhaust port. where our outlet is further away from the flange..(excuse my ****ty language, but i guess u get what i mean.)

If they (actually) fit the 208 then they will fit the 202. I think Dutch is trying to say that they don't appear that they will fit the 202 OR the 208. If EC is claiming that the exact same headers will fit the 209 and the 208, then they haven't test fit them on a 208. I would love to see a picture of them hooked up on a 208.

Maybe we need to approach Renntech for a group buy on their shortie W208 headers and throw in the CF intake as well. I cant image they have sold any for a while but they have already done all the development years ago.......anyone local that can approach them on our behalf?
