Nearly finished but iam not sure what colour to paint the cage I am thinking white black or red any ideas

Very Nice job,

you can also cut the wheel well, and modified with plastic one from W203/W209, for -weight purpose.

when you stripped your 4 doors for less weight, did you see if you maybe have 4 separate alarm sensors installed in the 4 doors to trigger the factory alarm system if a break in occurs?

if a buglar breaks any of the 4 doors (not breaking glass setting off cabin motion sensors) and opens the door, do alarm set off if you have alarm sensors installed in the 4 doors?

Don't know about doors, but the rear l'idée if not closed properly will set off the alarm after some time. It happened once to me and I wondered which vehicle was making all the rumpus until I checked and saw it was mine...

yes there is the sensor pull out switch for boot lamp in the boot.
if your alarm is activated you can test the alarm by pulling out the boot switch

you have B-pillar motion sensors
you also have the pop the hood alarm switch
