C36 randomly won't start. ASR light 'extinguishes' randomly, no other symptoms
I have ANOTHER electrical problem with my 1995 C36.
1/10 times I go to start my C36, it will refuse to start. There is no rhyme or rythum that I can identify; the only symptom is that the when the key is turned to the second position, the yellow exclamation (ASR) light in the middle of the speedo will shut-off, instead of staying on like it's supposed to.
When this happens, the only thing to get the car started is to turn the key back to position 0 and go back to position 2 again and again until the light will stay on and then car will start immediately when turned to position 3. This sometimes happens when the engine is cold, sometimes when it's hot, parked on a hill, parked flat, parked outdoors, parked indoors. I've tried tapping the fuse box, computers, ASR unit, etcetera. No pattern I can identify.
Please help, or even just come up with things to try.
No error codes are stored in the computer.
Thanks,
Edward

Today, the car died while driving slowly, tried to restart, but it wouldn't start until about 3 minutes later, started up and then died about 2 minutes afterwards...
Let the car sit for awhile, and then the car started right up, and ran for 30 minutes without issue.
Any ideas?

Just to follow up, the problem ended up being a bad OVP (crappy off-brand OVP replacement was used previously). I guess the answer is to always try another OVP when in doubt.

Sorry for the late reply.
Determined OVP was the issue after changing a lot of other things, and the OVP is cheap enough to drop in and try out. Ended up solving the problem.
