Battery Backed Alarm Siren
Guys,
Recently I heard my alarm making odd sounds when driving, even with the car off and key out.
Turns out some market C43 came with external battery backed siren located down beside the left horn.
I cut it open to see that the battery had leaked inside causing fatal injury.
I have noticed my battery would go flat after some weeks sitting, since removing this siren the battery no longer goes flat!. something to check if you are having battery problems
I called my parts guy, but soooo expensive for such useless part!!
Maybe this option is to code it to use horns instead? could also be a separate siren I'm not sure?

i replaced mine approx 2 years ago.
it made a helluva improvement.
the siren is a wear n tear part, it will leak bat-acid inside and fokk up the board.
the new siren makes a nice security chirp everytime you lock your car
these are quite pricey, i paid approx 120 dollars from dealership

Didn't even know there was a siren alarm until it went off for the first time a couple of weeks ago. It does make a hell of a racket and good to wake up the neighbourhood. It went off because I forgot to latch closed the rear boot lid before locking the car. It did take a while to start sounding off the siren.

Yeah I didn't realise there was one either!
Unfortunatley, I tested and cannot code the alarm to use the horn, even though there is an option to use a stand alone alarm horn the wiring is different also.
Looks like the lock beep is able to be coded maybe the newer ones have this selected;

Mine neither beeps nor chirps when locking the vehicle... Just flashes the indicators.
