202 Birds Eye Maple Code
Guys,
I picked up a damaged 00 C43 with Birds eye, I was thinking of using trim in mine does anybody know the colour code? I looked in EPC but it is not obvious even with data card...
Heres a pic of the trim, could do with a little cut and polish...
Here is a tidy set:

202 Birds eye has really grown on me since seeing it in the flesh!
Unfortunately the upper console(air cond controls) has gone a bit faded/brown so would like replaced... maybe I will will find the code on the back of one of the parts?... I will check next few days

I've been obsessed with Birdseye since my 55. Love the look. This may be my next project: https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...seye-trim.html
I'm just worried about snapping the trim while attempting to remove it. Plus my trim is in decent shape and I'd hate to ruin the originality if something went wrong.
Those 00's are rare; how bad is the damage?

I can see why - it has great detail and depth! factory SA code is 732, but Im still not sure what the colour code is when ordering trim..
Recently I purchased specific plastic pry bars to remove trim, best purchase ever highly recommended, use these especially on the door handles and to lift the door cards off the door, forcing them up by hand can rub and cut the soft trim at piller edges. Dash and door covers need to be removed entirely to release the trim strips(dash can be done without removal but is tricky without breaking plastic sports trim) ,consoles are straight forward removal.
The 00 C43 has had a tow bar through the impact bar, enough to push the radiator/condenser hard against the viscous and bend the pump shaft, we cut the bar off to get the radiator out etc, it would be tough to repair and not worth it because the body is rough and not well maintained, the seats were in excellent condition better than mine but steering wheel is worn out head liner sag etc. Has Bose system "810" so will install that in mine also sounds much better..
yes rare it was the only MY00 in NZ too!

hey pagz, show us some pics of this 00 car.
did you buy it cheap?
what's the interior options list?
birds eye only went to japan as a standard option and as an expensive option in europe.
birds eye looks so much better than the cheap fake CF trim

Hey Dennis!, it was for sale by tender, not really needing it I put in a low offer
Interior options list is not that large, it only had power windows on lower console, upper console was only 5 button as it did not have alarm system. Yes nearly all C36/43 I have seen from japan have birds eye, this is a Japan import so has small plate holder, rubber gaurd protection and window covers.
My father built a kit set Hummer(Nissan Safari chassis and diesel engine)we used it to pull the front bar out

I think they must have installed 210 parts after, epc shows only black or black/chrome handles on the 202
It is nice mod all 202 amg should have had coded door handles!
Some other local JP import 202's with Black birds eye maple, both 97 C36 and 99 C43 for sale at the moment:

Turns out this is not birds eye, on the back of the trim its "Birke Schwarz", or "Birch black"...at a distance it looks very similar to birds eye, but up close it has much more detail!.

I still cant find the colour or SA code for this trim... There is number "151422" on all trims, in colour codes there is code "422"..which translates to a colour code, but nothing with 151?

I have been searching but I cant find anything... I am going to try my parts guys when they are back on the 11th, not holding any breath though since it is not clear in epc.
The door trims I have are in good condition, just need the consoles, I think these will be incredibly expensive from mb

Hi Zayed,
I checked with my local Via MB Germany, they said unfortunately they cannot get Birch Black anymore..
They sent back this list of what was available -
Prices are eye watering expensive even for the standard wood trim
