C43 with 55 swap quest for 12's
I recently purchased a C43 for the sole purpose of swapping in a 55 engine. I used to own a W203 C55 but was forced to sell it for financial reasons. I didn't waste any time modding my C43 by swapping in the 5.4L from an '02 CL55, cutting out the resonator/secondary cats, and installing H&R super sport lowering springs. The previous owner installed an EBay axle-back 3"in exhaust and K&N drop in filters. The car runs 13.4 in the quarter mile with these mods. What are some more things I can do to help me get into the 12's?

13.4 is about as good as it gets for any N/A C43 with a 55 swap.
Your only real option is to add a supercharger. If we were talking going from 13.4 to 13.3 or 13.25 you could maybe work on the intake or exhaust, reduce the gross weight and unsprung weight. But shaving off a half second? We're talking a legit upgrade here.

I stand corrected. Boy was I wrong C43 / C55 drag run - YouTube
That guy hit 12's with full 3" exhaust and probably an LSD

Have we ever been able to conclude that a tune on a C55 helps at all?
Someone in the UK mentioned using injectors from the CL55k motor and seeing over 20hp more, though.

I don't think 55K injectors will work, even with ECU tune, to much RICH mode..!!
(C43/C55 217cc/283cc) VS (32K/55K 396cc)
our ME2.0 ECU has a limit E-prom file to rise-up fuel mixture, that's why MB Expand their file after 11/2002, to (ME2.8>>ME2.8.1)..?!?

I was able to cut down to 13.2 I'm sure it's because the sun went down and the air was much colder. I also weighed the car with all factory equipment and a 3/4 tank of gas. It weighed in at 3400lbs!

At 3400 with a c55 motor you should be able to get into the 12s with lighter wheels and better tires.
There is a definite improvement on the c55 with a tune. Is it a lot for the cost? No but what is on these cars. The cheapest easiest way to drop 10ths is to drop weight. Are you still running a spare tire? Back seats?

Wondering how you can improve gear shifts on our transmissions. With quicker changes I guess this should improve things considerably.

I cant tell you how frustrated I am when I see stuff like this above. I know you are just quoting someone ricco so its not you.
Someone who reviews cars should know about mercedes adaptive transmitions. Not being properly reset, the trans can cost you as much as a third of a second probably.
If a w210 e55 can do zero to sixty in under 5 seconds then its safe to say that a w202 will match that no problem and then some

But you're right, if the 210 E55 can do it in 4.9 weighing 300lbs more, there's got to be some kind of parity between the 2 cars. The C55 has worse exhaust but identical intake.
