Euromotorcars Bethesda stealing parts?
Anyone have a bad experience with Euro Motor Cars in Bethesda stealing parts? I took my 1999 C43 in for service a couple of weeks ago (idler pulley). I only drive my car on weekends, because I use bus/metro to commute to work in DC, and today noticed that my cupholder was missing.
Now why would someone want a silly cupholder? Because apparently w202 C class cupholders are no longer available.
My service advisor is looking into it, but his response was: why are you calling me about this two weeks later? I have since left a message with the service manager.
Grrrr. I expect to bring my car in for service, not have parts stolen from it. I won't get into the first service (misfires), where they didn't actually solve the problem despite $800 in work.

that's real bad for business stealing from customer cars!
ask service guy who drives a w202 at their shop?
you should hire Mickey13 on this forum he's a lawyer, he'll fry their a$$es stealing your cupholder!

Geez! OK here is the good and bad news. Let's start with the good news. You can buy a new w202 cup holder. It is $70 or $80 bucks, google brought up a bunch so look around but the first link was Cup Holder
The bad news is that it will cost you way more than $70 to hire me and you might still not get back your original cup holder.
Why would they take out your cup holder? Who knows, maybe they broke something in your car and needed to take it out to fix it and didn't put it back in or maybe they just broke your cup holder. NO IDEA BUTTTTT you said you had problems and they didn't fix the first time? So caveat emptor, either they don't like you or they don't like your car. Find another shop that will treat your lady better. Good luck.

Thanks for your sympathies and suggestions guys.
Bad news: even though all those places advertise the part, its not available any longer. This is a known problem with the w202. I'm going to try to get one from a junkyard or retrofit a w210 cupholder, which is what most places are now selling.
All of these problems arose in the last two weeks, from the misfires occurring again and me discovering that the cupholder was missing, when the car was last in the shop. I've only brought the car in twice, and have been very nice to everyone, explaining that I'm a car enthusiast and MB Club member, and I really like Mercedes, so I've haven't given them the chance to dislike me!
They are investigating. Either it was broken and I wasn't informed, or someone had a need for an unbroken w202 cupholder (my best guess since there's no need for someone to open the wood cover and activate the cup holder when the car is in for engine service).

OK, looks like these cup holders are out of stock! Does the w210 fit?
How do you retrofit it?

Problem solved, at least for the fit. Now, I have to deal with the problem of Euro Motors.
