So I have these chrome rims sitting around that I bought from one of the guys here. Anyway, plan is to have them powder-coated. A few people I've spoken to tell me to have them stripped first and a couple others say they can sandblast the chrome off.

Opinions?

Any idea what it might cost to strip them, I don't want to be taken for a ride on this. One fella said he would sandblast chrome off and powder for $85 a wheel. Other guy said after I strip them $150 to $200 each wheel. So prices are all over the board on this one.

Why not call the power coater and ask him\her\lgbt if they need any special surface preparation!! If so who would they suggest!!
