Pretty decent price for a brand new engine IMO. How much would a complete overhaul engine cost today? Probably not much different.

Do a rebuild yourself, doesn't cost that much. What is that NOS? Might need a rebuild as is, those gaskets and seals deteriorate over time.

I tackled the 5.4 tear-down by myself, not difficult and also fun. Rebuild will be anything I want it to be now.

I'd assume that rebuild doesn't include any machine work, seeing as how it's alusil. or is that something shops can do these days? then perhaps we should be boring our 5.4's out to be 6.5's
