Headlight rubber seal

Has anyone changed this rubber sealing strip (see pic below) on the top and running to the side next to the air inlets? Mine on both sides are flaking and slowly falling to pieces and I think they need to be changed asap.

I have checked the EPC and this seal is listed as a separate item to the headlights. I'll check with the dealer this afternoon to see if this part is available or only as a Factory order, meaning several weeks delay...

I changed both headlight seals a couple years back. I'll see if I can dig the old order up & get some part #s for you.

Here is the order I placed with Mercedes-Benz of South Atlanta (MbPartsWorld.com)

The items you ordered:
Qty Product # Price EA
1 SEAL. 2028261280 $23.00
1 SEAL. 2028261180 $23.00

Also paid $18 for shipping so it ended up being around $64 in total.

Thanks for the #s. I already have them from the EPC application. Well worth the yearly 15euro approx subscription
By the way, was it a simple unclip, change and clip up again?

I figured you did. I don't remember them causing me any trouble at all; should be simple.

I'll tell you tomorrow how much they cost here in my part of the "woods", after a visit to the local dealer just down the road

Picked up the left and right joints on Friday afternoon. I haven't got round to changing them yet, but it's in the planning for tomorrow. I also got a new charcoal filter fuel canister as I get some gas fumes when filling up the tank.

If I'm not mistaken, the canister is behind the plastic wheel protection in the driver's side rear wheel well. Cost me 78 Swissies

Like I said above, you smell the gas/petrol fumes after you fill the tank. In any case after 15-17 years I doubt the canister is still 100% in working order
Photo of the new canister below

If I recall some time ago Zayed cut open an old canister and it was rock solid I believe...

Yeah, Daniel is Right,,

i had a damn fuel smell always comes from Left/Rear side, i pull-out & cut the canister filter,

No, it's not plug & play, i don't remember if i twist the bracket or mount it with loom tie

i think C43 one is Horizontal fitment, while W203 should mount it vertically..!

So back to the original topic of the headlight rubber seal...

Easy peasy to change the seals and it took just a couple of minutes per side. It was really time to do this as the old rubber strips were falling to pieces and fouled my fingers with black gunk.

Here's a before and after photo of the driver's side
