G'day g'ovnor

You don't like your Vogtlands #952079?
I like mine very much paired with Koni yellow shox even better.

If you had H&R I bet you would have hated your suspension

Schtock ëüro AMG springs are stiff as hell with a 2 finger gap on wheel arches!

You have a ëüro specced car?
I'd like to see some photos of the car and the factory interior options.
Do you have the power rear blind, PTS sensors, fire extinguisher, factory alarm?

Is it a right hand drive with a 280 KM/H cluster?

if you decide to do some cool mods like swapping engine to a 5.4L from E55 , I have brand new genuine dials VDO/AMG 300KM/H 4SALE.
see this german soldC43 with a 300 scale.
The 300 scale looks much more butch!

These cool 300 scales are long gone out of schtock

Dont like the Vogtlands no, found them too stiff. The Euros are stiff, but not that stiff. The H&R in my CL203 are fine, no issues there.

I have Koni Yellow shocks.

My car is an Australian delivery ( only 60 came to Australia ), which are Euro spec cars. There is nothing extra we got here. Mine does not have the rear blind or parktronic.

It does have the paint code 189

Speedo is 280kph and it is allready a 5.4ltr.

I havent seen one with the rear blind or parktronic, but i have seen 2000 model C200/220/240/280 with those options.

I have only ever seen 1 2000 model C43 in Australia, but not long ago there was a guy selling a 99 model that he was claiming to be a rare 2000 model, i guess anyone can swap the wheels over...

Is there meant to be a picture of this 300klm speedo?

I have a 300KM/H speedo for pre-facelift 1998-1999 W210 E55 AMG cars

The other picture is from a genuine C55AMG cluster which is rare as hell to obtain.

With my loose scales you can make your own Frankenstein speedo.

I dont really do frankenstien parts like that, i only go genuine.

Certainly prefer the W202 cluster over the W210, everything is easy to see. The W210 AMG clusters are not ivory coloured here.

Both those in your pics look to be W210 styled clusters, the W202 has the clock in the tacho.

The pics are not really working too well on my phone, but those speedo dial inserts from your first pic should fit perfectly fine, but there will need to be calibration done to suit the different resolution.

Frankenstein is to pick parts from various units from AMG making your own.

W210 dials ARE ivory colored, it's a dark picture.
when you put the dials behind the cluster glass they will auto turn whitish color

first 2 cluster pics are for W210 E55AMG, 3rd cluster picture is for w202 C55

I have info of how to disassemble cluster and how to work on it to put it back together

Yeah the pics were not all visible to me at the time, i thought you were saying use a W210 cluster to make a 300...

Now that i can see the W202 picture there is makes more sense. How much for the 300kph dial?

W210 dials is Australian delivery E55s and CLK55s are NOT ivory, theyre dark grey.

Now i see why im not seeing the pics and info you type... When you edit a post, i dont get notified of that, and rarely go back to re-read old posts looking to see if theyre edited.

So much easier to make a new post!

I have pulled a fair few clusters apart yes, its reasonably simple.

I didn't think your car was so naked on the centre console besides the standard switches.
It's the same with the North American C43's, they were missing lots of options.

Im not fussed on the options, id never use them anyway. I dont know what options mine has, but all those options on yours were available here.

My E55 had pretty much the same stuff, but also had memory seats, auto dimming mirrors, and headlight washer. The instrument panels were dark grey, 280kph, and the trim was woodgrain. All C43s here had carbon trim and ivory instruments.

The passenger side mirror angles down when you put the car in reverse if you have the mirror adjust switch set to adjust the passenger side mirror.

here you can see there are different designs of AMG 300 face dials

my loose 300 dials are ivory/white design.
behind the glass they will turn whitish

my complete 300 kluster fits both w208 and w210 pre-facelift cars

My stuff are genuine VDO specially made for AMG cars
These dials for all markets using KM/H speedo

options were expensive, first owner didn't tick all options boxes
some cars are naked with basic options, others had extra it all depends what first owner fancy in exclusivity

passengers mirror was never auto dipping on reverse for C43.
only newer Benz had this feature

e55 should have more factory options as a standard compared to C43, however some e55 were very poorly equipped like NA market C43's which only had stock factory options.

for me personally I would never buy a Mercedes missing exclusive power options.
car would feel naked without them!
Benz was always considered as a luxury vehicle, it shoud have all options included that's my opinion

Passenger mirror auto dips on both my C43 and the 99 E55 i had.

when you put it in reverse passengers side mirror dips to help you when you parallel park?
I have never heard of this option for c43.
i know only other Benz had this option

i can adjust my mirrors with the centre switch the same you have, I can also fold my mirrors with the other power switch in tight spaces but never hear of auto dipping for parking.

did yo make this mod yourself, I find it hard to belive this was a factory option.
you can check the options codes in your service book for your car to see if this is correct for auto dip

Its factory, if not its dealer fitted and i highly doubt that. I am the 3rd owner, the 2nd owner did absolutely no changes and only went to dealer for anything at all. First owner was the manager of a dealership.

I certainly havent added something like that, i dont use it, its a bit of a pain really, so im glad you dont have to use it.

Im not sure if it is in the service book either, i dont recall seeing any options list in there.

The only items that are not factory OEM are the Koni Yellows and the 5.4ltr engine. Everything else is either factory original or replaced with OEM part due to wear.

maybe i missed out on the auto dip mirror on pass side as i have never heard about it for w202.
you could make a video with your cellophone of the auto dip mirror, it wudd be cool to see it, when you put the gear lever in R and then mirror dips

what year is your 5.4L engine?
how many km's did engine have when you bought the motor?
km's from the donor engine does it match your cluster km's or is it a mismatch between them?

Mismatched, it came from a W208 CLK55. Apart from the injectors, its in perfect shape. Not sure on klms.

My E55 had 279,000klms when i sold it, and no dramas at all. Engine still ran perfect.

donor engine did it have green injectors same as on your c43 engine?

do you like your car a lot better now after the engine swap?
did you do any ECU re-flash to E55 software for the new donor engine or do you still run your car on stock C43 ECU?

did you notice if your fuel consumption dropped or got higher in normal/legal driving situations

Yes, they all have the same green injectors on all the ones ive seen.

Its far better, way more powerful, shouldve been this way from the factory. The 4.3ltr AMG engine has plenty of power above 3,500rpm but not much under that, where as the 5.4ltr has loads of low end power but seems to drop off a bit flat at higher RPM.

The ECU was not changed, all stock and no tune. Runs fine.

Fuel consumption seems to be about the same as before.

Those green injectors are rediculously expensive from the dealer here, $440 AUD each, so i bought them from 2 suppliers on ebay.

0280155839 is the Bosch part number if anyone is interested.

that's great news to read you are very happy with your engine mod and that you get the same fuel consumption as before with stock engine.
