Hey guys so a few days ago I was sitting at a light and heard noise coming from under the hood. So I pull over to check things out and see there's smoke coming out under the hood on the drivers side near the radiator. Is this oil leaking from the valve covers that's causing this? Thanks guys as I don't know much at all about auto repair.
That certainly looks like valve gaskets needing to be changed. This is a very common problem with these M113 or M112 engines. Would recommend you getting a good steam clean of the engine before hand to get all the grim away making work on the engine more pleasant. If you change the gaskets, I would also recommend you change the plugs when the valve covers are off, as access to the plugs is easier that way. Otherwise it's a bloody knuckle scraping exercise.
