C36 Sale
I'd like to buy a C36, so I'm looking around. Here is a nice one in red. Not interested in the price, but the pictures are nice!

Here's one on the west coast, priced a bit lower. Not really interested though.

adding. i feel like the c43 is so difficult to mod. ive been wanting to get the engine sleeved but im unhappy with the pricing. i was also considering the 300ce w124 (which i found a really beautiful example at a great price) and also the s500/600 w140 (have not found a good example).
but i might just shift gears and pick up a 2nd gen infinity q45 (y33) maybe a VIP project - found a really nice example at a give away price.

yeah thats true. you know the w220 s55's are selling for 10k and sometimes less. 500 hp for that price is pretty sick. it really doesn't even make sense to spend any money on these cars because in a few years they basically become give aways. i consider a 500 hp mercedes benz for $10k a straight up give away. tommy tucker turns around and buys a subaru wrx for more than 10k and at the end of the day hes just driving a subaru, know what i mean?
i'm gonna look around for a s55. i mean if thats the case, i'll probably just do a straight 5.4 rebuild for my c43 without going beserk on sleeving etc. i love the w202 but i have plenty of other things to throw my money at right now.

Not cheap but all done that would make some nice figures I imagine.

i'm going ahead with the rebuild because my 4.2 is just a POS and i already bought the 5.4, but i'm just not going to have it sleeved, s/c or turbo'd because of costs. just doesnt make sense. theres a s65 on ebay right now for $19k obo. thats 600 ponies without any headaches of reinventing the wheel. can get an s55 for about half the price. will pull the trig as soon as i find a nice example. i want to have a pre-purchase compression test on any mercedes i buy this time.

Look for a 600, almost as much power as the 65, at 30% of the price. It's the same car in a 215/220, just some trim differences and a little smaller engine/trans. But you can find a beautiful, clean, low mileage 600 for under 10k.

good point joe. thanks for broadening my horizons!
kow, my 4.2 has a oil consumption problem. i have to add a quart every 500-1000 miles. i really don't even remember or keep track anymore, i just keep extra oil in the car and pull over when the light comes on. MB of Fort Washington, PA where i bought the car at screwed me over on this one.
btw, i was at the delaership by my house in NJ last night... the interior on the new c-series is AWESOME!! the black raised grain wood is impeccable as is the stitched together dash! finally a c-series i can see myself getting behind.

did you complaint to the head bosses at stealership maybe they care more about their biniz reputation than the under bosses who don't give a daem?
this MudaF. stealership should take responsibility when giving you the used car warranty.
is it too late for you to go to the consumers bureau filing a complaint getting screwed over

The exposed wood grain is my favorite feature of the new interiors. The black wood looks great, but some of the dark brown wood/leather combos are so sexy.

when i finally get around to it, im going to pull all the wood on my c43, remove the clearcoat, sand it down and stain it black! im on the hunt for a s600, s65 or s55, i am not seeing a lot of them for sale in my area which makes me think these models are really good. i am reading that the early s600s had issues so steer towards 2004+ model
kow, i brought the car in maybe 10x for the oil issue while it was under warranty. they refuse acknowledge the problem. finally i complaint to MB of USA and they tell the dealer to fix it but by then i already decided to change the engine and also that i no longer trust that dealer to work on the car and wont go back.

why don't you pee on this dealership by giving them a bad reputation on internet.
make a facebook complaint thread or something else so people find out how they treat their customers, this way a potencial buyer will stay away from dat shady MB dealership.
you should use your lawyer skills to give them a bad reputation on internet.

some things are just not worth the effort, aggravation or time.... the relentless pursuit of of some endeavor like getting the dealership to repair a bum motor they sold me which i might buy for $1000 or less is egotistical and counterproductive. aside from the motor, i did get the dealer to do several thousand dollars worth of work on my car. i am not saying they get a pass on the motor because ultimately they broke their promise to me, but sometimes when someone breaks their promise the best bet is to walk away. you can save thousands and thousands of dollars in the long run.
all mercedes dealerships are not the same. MB of Fort Washington, PA, is just one of the crappy lowlife dealerships that are out there. the mercedes dealer by my house recently changed hands and when that happened the new dealer cut a lot of the old fat. i can also see by the cars they are now selling that they have different standards than the old dealer. i do not know if it is a good dealership as i havent done business with them yet.
so why spend my time fighting with a lowlife dealer over a few dollars, particularly when i have so many better things to do with my time. sometimes clients come to me with a problem and i know they are absolutely right and can win their case, HOWEVER i have to tell them that paying me to win their case will cost them 2 or 3 or 20 times the amount that the case is worth.
im a pretty simple guy. i dont like getting ripped off and i dont like spending money. i like deals, i like value. i dont like wasting my time.
On a side note, i am having a very hard time finding a w220 s600, s55 or s65, but i did find a 98 w140 s600 blk/blk with 133 miles.... so tempted right now. i might just buy it to have it and keep looking for an w220 or w/e i have no where to park all these cars!! lol

w140 is a tank
last of the good MB
i'd loev to own an S500 V8 or an S600 with a v12
this was the favorite car in Moscow among all gangstah back in the 90's, it's still one of many favorite MB cars today among gangsters.
you wanna play to be a mobster lawyer, buy this car and murder it with cool rims and tinted windows

yes, that is exactly what i am planning to do,i am 100% resigned to buying it if i can get my hands on it and there are no serious red flags. what style rims do you like for it? 19? 20? bigger?
i am seeing it next week, will run it over somewhere for a ppi, hopefully i can get a compression test, but i know a compression test on a v-12 is going to be a long process. so have to find someone with the time to do it and get the seller to agree.
those 2004+ w220s must be really good cars,,, none for sale around here but i think i will be very happy with my new toy for a bit

old skool AMG 19-20" rims for w140 is the only way to go
w220 must be the worst S-class MB ever built, rust and electronic gremlins are surprises you don't want on a high end car!
if you decide to buy a w220, buy last year model, maybe Sindelfingen managed to resolve all the issues from previous years?
there must be specialists shops working on these cars, better to pay a specialist for a good inspection than getting fokked all over again like last time with your c43.

yeah agree. 20 amg rims will be nice and classic. also heard the w220 had a few problems and stick to the 2004+ years, closer to 2006 is of course better. Same thing with the w140, have to get 96+ because of the wiring harness and some other issue i think. always a good idea to get the last model year if possible.
yeah i dont mind paying a few hundred dollars to have it looked at. im so excited to get a 98 v12. going to have to do some photo shoots of what is becoming my classic benz collection. LOLOL
