Deadrest pedal

Do you have any of these pedals fitted on your car?
Does plate fit perfectly?
Does plate sit properly attached with adhesive tape or velcro on carpet?

Rubber knobs on SS plate, are they the same size like factory rubber knobs on the other pedals?
Rubber quality is it long life or do they wear down fast?

I have the OE pedal covers (if I recall parts are from the slk but not 100 sure), no fancy footrest though. After four years use the knobbly rubber things are beginning to be worn on the right side of the brake pedal close to accelerator pedal.

it's strange I always placing my foot on the right side corner of the brake pedal when braking, not placing foot in the centre of pedal for full brake pressure

I modified a dead pedal from a MK IV Golf to fit and attached it with velcro. Nothing fancy, just a plastic footrest, but it covers the carpet. It takes a bit of work and you have to make a pattern.

To avoid mixing things that do not go together, leave the footrest as it is, CARPET!

Wipe your shoes before climbing in.....

I always tap my feet together before swing my legs inside. That way you loosen most dirt off. In worse case, you need to vacuum more often
A wipe and clean with some shampoo from time to time will keep the carpet spotless!

a good smack with your shoes sideways is good to loosen sand and stones
