hello and intro
Hey guys.
So I made an intro thread in the main section but wanted to start one here and introduce and note some of the mods i have done and plan to do to my 2016 C63S.
First a bit of backstory, started modding cars in 2002 with a brand new WRX. I had that car for many years and finally moved onto a SRT8 jeep. At that point i was living in Denver and attempting to figure out what to do with my life (besides skiing and riding motorcycles) so not much was done to that jeep. I was planning on buying the new SRT8 jeep when it was released but decided to go with an Audi s4 as i fell in love with the supercharged motor, interior, and tuning potential. I kept it simple for the first 2 years but then i took it to the track and then went MOD crazy!! a few months ago I got a letter about my warranty being up after 4 years. As the DSG seems to be a 12k ticking time bomb i decided to start looking at cars.
I usually go to cars and coffee in the summer and there are a few C63's that have caught my attention. being in NJ and winter was always a worry for me so never considered as an option. I had heard about the C450 so was interested in that. Especially since it was AWD and that is what I have been used to all these years. Ended up test driving a C63s first so the 450 option was immediate squashed ha. The dealer happed to have a stock one arrive with exactly what I wanted besides black wheels. Build is 2016 c63s diamond white, multi-spoke wheels, performance seats, red black interior, perf exhaust, CF rear spoiler, parktronic, lighting package, multimedia, pano roof, HUD, black ash wood. Got a good deal and ran home to start taking all the parts off the Audi so I could make the trade.
first i have to say there is nothing like the sound and felling of the v8 biturbo.
so within the first 100 miles i had the windows tinted 35% all around (minus windshield) and had a set of winter rubber installed on the stock wheels. next ordered a set of CF mirrors from RW carbon and AMG door pins form JBspeed.
last weekend installed a Blackvue DR650 2 chan dash cam as you can never be too sure when it comes to people driving around here.
on the agenda is wrapping the chrome in black. give it a midnight package look. thinking about the carbon pieces as well but want to do wheels first.
i am also going to order a set of the Vorsteiner VFF103 wheels. i love the looks of the HRE but just cant imagine spending that much and hitting a NJ pothole.
I am keeping an eye on performance mods since as soon as spring hits i will be headed to the strip.
added some pics of the car, the mirror caps, and the old audi.
thanks and looking forward to learning about the w205 platform

Great looking car. Really wish I had the carbon fiber spoiler. Dealer said it cost 2,000 and had to be shipped from Germany. I've seen carbon fiber spoilers online for 200, but not sure about quality. Shame, since it's only a 500 option when you order. Anyway, How do I get that info. on my multimedia screen?? I guess I need to drive it a little more. I haven't seen that yet.

the HP screen took a bit of digging, i was shown it on the test drive but was not paying attention on how to find it. you press the car button. scroll over to DYNAMIC SELECT, then hit ENGINE DATA and you will get this screen. this screen is the icing on the cake when people check out the car haha.
Thanks JPM, i was reading in some posts you are close to Englishtown. i will be heading there this spring for sure. Maybe we can meet up

How do you like the Blackvue camera? Always wanted something like that to record the cops when they pull me over with audio and video but this seems to be more front and rear..

thank you
So far I am really liking the camera. I purchased it off amazon and got the power magic pro package. if you do order it(and want to do the install) make sure to get some fuse taps as that was something I had to run out and grab last minute. I was able to run the wires all the way to the back following a thread on here by DBOC205 no issues and didn't have to remove anything.
Cameras are both small so you can barely notice them, very clean. It comes with user friendly software that is installed on the memory chip that plugs in via USB. This is how you make all the changes to settings, you then save it and put the chip back into the camera. You are able change km to mph or turn that off completely. There is a wifi option that you can connect directly to your phone and see what the camera sees in real time. This allows for aiming during the install. The lens has a pretty wide angle so if you mount in the center it sees the entire hood.
It does have audio recording that you turn on and off by waving your hand near the left side of the front camera and it will confirm "audio recording on/off" it's nice to not have to try and hit a button to do this. The audio is good enough that you would be able to hear the convo between you and the officer, just would not see them once then got to your rear door.
overall i feel it was a good purchase for the car. people do some crazy things on the road so its good to have evidence. also to see M3s in the rear camera hahaha

Figure i would keep updating this post with progress on the car. Decided to go with white and black look so I ordered some black emblems to replace the chrome. in the next few weeks I am planning on wrapping the window rim, front, back, and side skirts.
also have a little teaser of my latest purchase from Vividracing. hopefully getting them installed this weekend and will post some more pictures.
hope to be heading to the track this weekend if the weather cooperates.

So I picked up the mounted wheels last night and got to work in the garage. First thing I realized is that the MB lugs are UGLY. They are normally hidden by the hub cap. For the time I sprayed the heads with plasti-dip.
Before I mounted I weighed everything
Stock (mb multi spoke with vredestien wintrax)
Front 48.3 245/35/19
Rear 49.4 255/35/19
VFF103 vorsteiner (midnight black w/stock Dunlop sportmax)
Front 44.4. 245/35/19
Rear 48.5. 265/25/19
As I said in the early post these are the basically brand new tires before I swapped to winters. I will most likely get something a bit wider once I burn through these.
Initial thoughts; they look great. The rear is concave and they are open enough to show the massive AMG breaks. I ran over to a corporate building after I was done mounting and took a few shots with my Nikon(very new at this)
Clears the front brakes with no issue, no more hidden rotors
Concave!
Mirror cap replacements from RWCARBON

Loving the combo bro and really like what you've done to the wheels. This also confirms that I really need to get CF mirror covers soon. It completes the night look and goes very well with the rims.

Thanks Iceman. The caps are very nice quality. Took me a bit to figure out it just takes some muscle to pop off the old ones. Little scary haha.
So 2 weeks ago I went to a cars and coffee meet and ran into a buddy with a w204 c63. Got a few shots with him and just got around to editing to share.
Also hit 1k miles on sat so Sunday I visited the track. Between the track prep and my rwd noob level results were not impressive. Coming from an s4 that cut consistant 1.6 60 ft this was a whole new world lol. I will share tomorrow as I left my slips on my counter.
My artsy shot of the day hah

Yes, Bergan county. They do Sunday mornings and then during the summer some Tuesday night meets. usually at the fireplace in Ramsey or staples in Mahwah. last year they did the opening of the Maserati dealership on Rt 17 and it was insanity

So as I said I hit 1000 miles in my car on sat while running around. Woke up Sunday and realized the weather was extremely nice. I grabbed my helmet out of the basement and headed out to island Drag way. They open as long as the weather is above 45 and no rain.
So here are the times I Ran. And a summary of the day
Got to the track around 1pm. got through tech quickly but just missed the Street class run. I had just drove about 50 miles so my tires were very warm at this point. Let the air down in the rear to 30 PSI. Got up to the line and forget the extra step (pulling both paddles) to activate Race start. That is why the long RT (I know it’s not relevant to time) but I am usually pretty fast on that. I did it very quickly so I don’t think I was at the full RPM before I left the line. Had massive tire slip once boost hit. I have had issues with tire slip even in the Audi at this track. Once I was about halfway through second the car caught and really took off like a rocket.
Second run I ended up in the far lane. I had lowered my tire pressure to about 26 at this point so see if I could get a better start. Used RS and timed it perfectly. The countdown bars are very helpful now that I know they exist. I don’t think I got full traction till 3rd gear and even had the back end kick out a little. A little faster and much better trap speed, from what I have learned the high trap is because of the tire spin.
Kept pressure the same on this run and was able to get in the left lane for this run. Used RS again this time but started it too early and it bogged down right before the light.
I was going to leave so on the way back to the start I filled up my tires again. On the way to the gate I realized they were letting the cars go again quickly so jumped over to staging lane and did a 4th run. I decided this time to just wait till the light turn green and mash the gas as I has always done on the Audi since LC was actually quite slower. Turned out to be my best run of the day. Also may have helped that it was only about 20 minutes after my last run and I had been driving around the complex not sitting in the staging lane so my tires were a bit warmer.
All and all it was a fun day. RWD technique is certainly going to take a bit more practice. I am going to try and hit up Englishtown next time which has much better track prep and I have always done much better time wise there.

Been a bit busy lately so not much time to post. But I figure I would post a follow up.
I have been waiting on an exhaust so haven't done much else besides some cosmetic and driving as much as possible.
Ordered some black emblems off eBay and replaced the chrome ones. The quality was great so decided to swap them out last week. Used a heat gun and some goo gone and was able to take the old ones off very easy and out on new ones. I have actually previously done plasti dip but I just felt wrong spraying rubber on a brand new AMG lol.
The only issue was he center logo on the trunk. I tried everything to get that out in on piece but ended up cracking it. I removed the entire trunk liner so that made getting the pieces that broke simple to remove. The replacement from eBay came in an oem box so was a perfect fit.
Ended up doing the 3 logos on the back and both V8buturbo on the sides. I then tried out my hand with some vinyl. The chrome strip on the back went on perfect. I then moved to the front and 8 sq feet and 13 applications later I deemed it "good enough" for a test run. I plan on getting the rest of the trim done down the road.
Also been working on my photo hobby a bit so here are some more pics.
Amg, MB logo, and C63 all replaced with gloss black
Just finishing up second V8biturbo
During the process, those angles are tricky
And done! Used black 3m so shiny perfect match to the existing piece
