Not sure where I said or implied that. Agreeing with this comment "buy the c43 and get the AMR tune and have the best of both worlds and save 20k"; is that what you are referencing?

I was too lazy and it is impossible to add a second quote on mobile from Tej7 just above yours. Sorry for the confusion

Right? I have NEVER heard of anyone going below 20%. I want to hear the reasoning and not just some BS answer like "because of our years of experience blah blah blah..." c'mon guys.
Your dyno numbers are sketchy if you ask me.
Every other tuner is showing MUCH different whp numbers for the stock car; hell, some companies are showing less whp on their tune than you guys are measuring stock. You guys are a trusted company, at least I assume so for how long you've been in business, but this screams scam job to me...

This is an extremely well respected company that's been in business for almost 30 years.

A similar modded C63 would walk all over the c43 in the quarter too. A modded c63 is running low 11s at around 125 to 127 c43 isn't coming close to that I love the c43 just orders one but def 2 diffrent animals. A modded c43 is prob gonna run at best 11.9 at 116 to 117 havnt actually seen any time slips yet but that's my guess.

That's not MY question though. It's pretty obvious what would happen. If you can't figure that out, then I am in awe that you were able to achieve the means in your life to afford a mercedes

I think it is great that you are proud of your car and mod it. Just because of that, you are not the fastest car on the road though. I for sure don't think that because I bought the c63, I am driving the fastest car out there. There are several cars running around that will blow the doors off of the c63. I still think my beater is about as quick as the c63 (minus some extremely quick shifts that the c63 has)

I know what YOUR question is. Your scenario is funny. Of course it could be faster by upgrading it and facing a stock car. I'm also pointing out that stock for stock it would be no match. Mod for mod, it would be no match.

It's kind of like, "Do I have an AWD car that is on par with the c63?"
I'll never get that sweet sweet exhaust note, but I'm hoping that the rumors are true and by the time this lease is up, the 63 will come with 4matic as at least an option.

It's not about that. It's just a friendly comparison. Obviously I'm not the fastest car on the street but ~500hp is faster than most either way.

Personally I feel paying $2,400 for only a 34 hp/52 lb-ft increase is too much money.

When I purchased my C450, the Mercedes/AMG dealership I bought my car from offered a RENNtech tune for about $2,400, and were quick to tell me the warranty for the engine would then be the responsiblity of RENNtech, not Mercedes Benz.

RennTech's pricing is absolutely outrageous. I can't believe people are out there paying (getting bent over) for these tunes. I hate to think about the people that don't know better, that don't know there are other, better options.
I did a lot of research and talked to both companies with about 10-20 email exchanges each.
OE's stage 2 tune is equal to AMR's stage 1.
AMR's stage 2 tune is only about 10 hp/tq more than their stage 1.
Basically: They are about equal when you compare their relativity. This is why I went with OE. Plus it was on holiday special for $800 and I'm a cheap ***
I always thought with the renntech tune Mercedes would warranty it I guess I was wrong unless renntech warranties it. I also agree that's a lot of money for such little gains. That's why you're better off going with AMR about $400 cheaper and your getting a lot more power and torque. OE tuning is tempting to being that it's only $1,200 it's a little less gains than AMR but almost half price.

You might think it's overpriced, but one turbo on a C63S costs more than a Renntech and AMR tune combined... don't be cheap. Don't even get me started on how much you will depreciate your car during resale if it's been flagged with a void engine warranty.

Renntech is similar to Dinan in that you're paying more for "dealer installed" aftermarket parts, and in return, both offer warranties (through Renntech/Dinan, not MB/BMW). Because they can be purchased through a dealership, they're considered relatively safe in that the dealership will more than likely cover any repairs associated from the tuning you purchased through them.

And you have to be pretty dumb and careless to get your car flagged in that manor... Regardless, I'm on a lease
