Picked up new Coupe (pic heavy)
Hi guys,
After placing my order back in September, I finally picked up my new Edition 1 Coupe on Saturday. When the sales guy did the reveal in the showroom I was blown away with the looks of the car in the flesh.
This is my third C63, all have been in Polar White with black wheels (yeah I know..) - my first was a W204 C63 507 Coupe - which I kept for 2 years and is up there as one of best cars I have owned - the second was a C63S Saloon (Sedan) which only lasted about 7 months.
I prefer the Coupes to the Saloon generally as I do not need 4 doors - so shortly after I had taken delivery of my Saloon back in September 2015 - the Coupe early pics were hitting the internet and when I heard that it was wider than the Saloon and had a completely newly developed rear end just for the Coupe, that was really the nail in the coffin for the Saloon, so it went. Ultimately I just didn't gel with it - obviously still a great car overall - but too Q car for me.
So initial impressions after 3 days and 200 miles in the Coupe vs my Saloon:
Lastly, Edition 1 spec on Coupe to me, makes it like my 507 - Alcantara wheel, cool interior, aero touches over standard - bigger rear spoiler, front splitter, different rear diffuser - not sure about side blades but they stick out a lot.
Spec wise (in the UK) I went with Edition 1 package, AMG Drivers Package, HUD and 360 camera (rear deck visibility is poor)
Anyway pics:

So initial impressions after 3 days and 200 miles in the Coupe vs my Saloon:
- Coupe - for me personally, it looks better - the Coupe is extra wide and very muscular in appearance - especially at the rear (obviously subjective)
- I could be wrong but I do believe the Coupe sounds louder than the saloon (both have sports exhaust) - I am still only running the Coupe in though so making this impression at below 4k rpm speeds
- The ride is much better!! - in comfort mode on the saloon I always felt it was too hard at the rear - it really grated on me when commuting - the Coupe feels better - hurrah.
- It remembers the last settings - so my sports exhaust is on at next restart if I stopped the car with it on
- It doesn't go quieter at traffic lights when you put the foot on the brake which the saloon used to do
- Coupe has Burmeister, saloon didn't - stock stereo in my saloon was very disappointing after harman kardon in my W204 - really pleased with the Burmeister setup
