You're better off with a coat of sealant then wax and letting it sit.

He's right.... Especially with it being on a open trailer. That will make it worse.

O man don't use a car cover ESPECIALLY on an open trailer. The wind will flap every inch of that cover over and over against your paint. If closed trailer isn't an option, then you're still better off with sealant / wax, maybe even tape if you're really worried about it.

Thanks for the heads up - I'll probably just ship the car naked rather than with a cover.

California Car Cover does make a variety of excellent car covers, both for indoor and outdoor use. But as others have mentioned, never transport a car in an open trailer with a car cover on. Get blue painter's tape and tape the front/leading edges, and you should be ok...
