C63-507: limited slip differential?

Not sure whether to invest in this option or not?

Can someone ELI5 under what scenarios I will make use of the LSD?

FYI: I plan on tracking the car (~1/month).

You've posted your request in the wrong forum. Re-post in the W204 forum.

A must have in my own opinion. It keeps the wheels balance while allowing to break them loose when need be.

many AMGs and MBs
IMO a must have on a two wheel drive car with this power. It is too much for one drive wheel. Not having it takes away fun and control

+1 -- Anytime you make a turn under heavy power or on an uneven surface you will be kicking yourself due to one-wheel peel.

Much better grip coming out of a corner and accelerating.

It's standard equipment on 507's which are supplied to Australia

IMO if it's an option there for you then definitely get it, the obvious advantage is more traction and for any powerful RWD or even FWD only vehicles the more available traction you have the better for it and it'll definitely also benefit you for track use.

Just keep in mind that when LSD equipped RWD vehicles do break traction depending on the individual vehicle type they will be more difficult to control as the tendency to 'fish tail' or go sideways is much more pronounced with LSD compared to without LSD.

Thanks for feedback all. Now that I know its standard on the 507, only thing I need to worry is finding an allocation.

Can it be installed at the dealership if it doesn't come with one?
My folks seen a black one in the show room at their dealership but from the sounds of things, it is just a C63 and not the S version. They like the more aggressive look of the C63 vs their 13' S550. If they do trade in for it, I will sure spend time behind the wheel too.
We might go for a test drive but not anytime soon as we are expecting a foot of snow in the next 24hrs.

Yes standard equipment on 507's destined for the Australian market, I've got no idea what the case is for other Countries.

Hopefully the OP took note of that in my previous post, or maybe he is located in Australia

If you order a C63 Coupe now; you can only order it with the 507 Package. This is applying to the US market.

Same for the Australian market, the only C Class AMG available at the moment is the 507 coupe
