Carbon fiber trim

Did anyone order the carbon fiber trim option or can comment about it?
Will it have micro scratches showing up just like the glossy black trim that many people are regretting in the regular w205 forum?
I like the look and worry about the finger prints but more so about the micro scratches.

I think they'll all show the fingerprints (well, maybe not the ash pore) so that's gonna happen. As for the scratches, I think the CF will hold up better than the glossy black. I've seen a couple of review videos and each time they pan down to the controls, you see the scratches on the glossy black. I like the ash pore and will likely go with it. And its free on the S model. If I had to, I'd spend the money to avoid the glossy black. Just MHO.

The MB carbon fibre is glossy, but it is also top notch. They have a high rejection rate as they are so picky. I would not get any MB without the carbon fibre interior. It's great.

I have CF in mine. I personally went with it to complete the sport look of the interior. Everyone has even commented on how "sick" it looks. Also, with the Black Gloss you do not get the IWC Clock. The Linden Wood to me doesn't go at all and the Open Poor Wood for me isn't my taste.

I will post more pics once I take delivery saturday.

i would also prefer the cf look too. Finger print/smudge I can deal with with a piece of micro fiber cloth left in the car but what about the scratch? Is it going to be as bad as the glossy black trim ? Every in the regular w205 forum complaints about the scratch because it is nothing more that a piece of shiny plastic !!!

I would have opted for the CF trim, but I don't like the aluminum door trim (looks cheap to me). If the CF trim included the door trim, that would be my top choice. But for that reason, and the fact that it's a $1,300 option (for just the front console), I'd personally go with the open pore black ash which I find to look just as nice to look at as CF.

Something about those aluminum door blades just bug me. I think darker trim just looks much better and contrasts very well with Burmeister speakers.

If only MB offered it the way they have it (inaccurately) in the configurator...

I've always preferred CF trim and most of my previous cars have had it, fingerprints/scratches aren't an issue unless you somehow get a deep scratch in the clear coat - even then, you can usually buff it out.

Yeah $1300 for just the center console is a bit much but it looks so good. I do agree that if it was also on the doors then it would be perfect.

The center console in CF has been a real winner whenever people look at my interior. Like I said here is my opinion on the trim choices:

Black Wood - Finger Print/Scratch Nightmare

Linden Wood - Only works with Designo Saddle Brown

Carbon Fiber - "Race" Look

Open Poor Wood - Different yet cool enough without baring any finger prints.
