Factory Delivery 2018 C63 Black Series
So I put a deposit down on a 2018 Mercedes-Benz unlisted item then in MSRP options it says C63 Black - C63 Black Edition.
This will be my first MB (if it is actually made) and I live in crappy weather Alberta Canada and am not going to have a lot of opportunities to exercise this car at home with out trailering it to California.
So I plan on factory delivery and I was curious if anyone has experience with this that may have some tips and also when I take it from AMG I plan to head up to Nordschleife and I was told it will have a governor of 4500RPM for 2500KM break in. Can I have a tuner in Germany remove that early so I can use it to its potential or is that a terrible idea? Also has any one else ordered one and is may be interested in doing the same? It would be more fun to have a couple guys as a group make the trek to Nurburgring together.

Dr. S your statement has a lot of holes in it. One cannot yet order 2017 coupe. No one knows anything about 2018 having a black series (not edition) yet. If you actually did pay a deposit for such a car, it is likely that anything you were promised is made up. I mean...what kind of smoke are you doctor of?

My dealer took my deposit they said they were told it's coming and if I wanted one they will sell out before released. They said I am third in line. I asked what colors or suggested retail. They said they know absolutely nothing except it will be built and I said will it be a coupe? They said they have no idea could be 4 doors and all yellow lol. Anyway they took my money And I have a sales contract for a future 2018 C63 Black. They said they will refund if they don't get enough cars as I am third in line or if I don't like it when the specs come out.

There has only been coupe black series. There has been 5 models since 2006. That's one every other year. Candidates are: A C SL SLK GT E and S. Chances are it will be a GT in 2018 at the earliest and the next in 2020.
I hope you didn't put more than 1k down.

Never heard of a car having a governor that doesn't allow you to break 4500rpm during the break in. Usually it's just a recommendation and it's your choice whether or not to follow the break in procedures. Don't know if this is different for Black Series vehicles though.

As a general statement, you cannot do European delivery on cars that are assembled in the us. Sedan C classes are made in Alabama for the US. I think Canada gets its C classes there as well. The coupes may be made in Germany but not sure.

No problem. I find it difficult to get info. I assumed it was governed at 4500RPM because salesman said I won't be able to take it over 4500RPM for 2500KM but may be its just if I do take it over it voids warranty or something like that which would be cool. Also it was just 1000.00 cdn deposit fully refundable so he says.

The current model does not have a governor as many start driving it hard from the start. Warranty has never been an issue specific to inappropriate break in procedure over the past 8 years I have been here. I also heard first hand from an amg professional that amg cars do not need break in despite the recommendation in the manual. You'll find a lot of info if you search the w204 c63 forum about this as well as other forums for cars that have been around longer than w205.

The BS vehicles are usually done the near of the production line; which means you wouldn't see one until 2024. That's IF they choose to do another C Black.

I think what the op did is very reasonable and some don't realize
Worst case he gets his $1000 back from a legitimate dealer, in 2018 when the black series doesn't come out
Best case, he gets a black series and stuffs it in everyone's face (though he seems classier than that)
Good luck op, post pics when you take delivery!

Common practice.. I remember putting down $1k for a GT-R, literally the day after rumors swirled that it would be released States-side. I ended up getting it refunded.. but I was already 7th in line when I wrote the check.

Interesting MB dealer to say the least.
Most dealers don't even know what's coming for 2016 and those guys write sales contracts for non-existing cars (there is no MY 18 BS C-class in the pipeline) with a deposit no less!
