Seeking feedback on regular c63 seats

Hi - We're about to place my order for an 09 c63. I want to do without the 318 AMG Leather Package (AMG Premium Leather/Power Seat Memories) mostly because of the price tag ($2950 '08 #) and reviews that I've read saying that Nappa leather wears out quicker. How are the standard seats that come with the car? Anything I should be aware of? Thanks in advance.

yes you should be aware that buying a c63 without leather is terrible IMHO

i think it will hurt the resale and make it tough to resell

it will be ugly

and you will have manual seats

really bad move in my opinion

they seats are 3k just so they can keep the base price down...if i where you i would really consider the leather a standard feature and just add the 3k to the price.....

and also, i dont think nappa wears out particularly quick

plus, i think one of the key feature of the car are the awesome AMG sport seats

im not 100% sure if the cloth seats are AMG, or are the same design/style

Due to the agressive side bolsters, I gaurantee that the side bolsters will start wearing quicker than conventional seats. Everytime I get in and out, I can't help rubbing against those things.

I currently own a Corvette which has the side bolsters but not as aggressive as the AMG seats but I make sure when I wash the car every week I put leather conditioner on the seats. My car is 2 years old and the seats still look new. My buddy has the same year car and he never conditions the seats and his look worn. You will just need to give them some TLC

yes they might wear over time, but we're talking 3-4 years at the very very least before you see anything

to those who are not gonna keep this car for the next 10 years, this shouldnt be an issue

if youre leasing for 2-3 years...no worries

if youre buying, dont expect to see any wear on the seats for a very long time

just my opinion

I am in the minority that I don't see any issues with the standard seats. They are bolstered etc.. like the upgraded ones. Also, it appears the sides are still leather and just the center of the seat is cloth.

I asked a similar question, not long ago and Last Emperor game me the link the German site where you can see them

if they are the same AMG bolstered seats, than that might actually look GOOD

im just worried that theyre not the same (integrated headrest/sport seat)

After some diligent searching I found a pretty good picture of the non-upgraded seat on Poland's website. The link is below. Click on "Konfigurator" on the lower right. Then you pick the C63 and you will see the non-leather seat option. You can hit the magnifying glass pic to blow up the picture.

I think they look great.

yes actually much nicer than i expected it to be

i think the only difference is with the leather package, the "middle" of the seats are leather..... but that picture does look very very hot!!

and one thing i can say for sure:

UNIQUE!!!

When I was given the configuration matrix, I had choices of Black, Black/grey and Black/sahara, and some MB Tex i didnt really care for.

I didn't see just Sahara option??

Sounds like the seat package also makes them electronic so these seats are manually adjusted. That doesn't bother me at all but does anyone know if you can manually adjust the side bolsters? Since it sounds like they can get tight and are adjustable on the seating package I wonder if these are not adjustable. That could be a problem if you have wide shoulders.

good point!

the adjusters for the side bolsters are missing from the picture!

they should be on the side of the seats,
in this pic they are not there

another thing...

another thing that is a bit odd about that picture is the fact that the seat backs are color matched to the leather. p-shop?

Nice, but has anyone found what the non-leather seats in the back look like? I'm afraid to look!
