I think wider tires will do the trick.

Why not just hit it with more topspin?

For all those C63's without the performance package, you are really missing out... This is where the LSD is most usefull, and not only do you have so much more controll while launching, downshifting, and whipping around turns but it actually make it incredibly easy and fun! I dont understand why anyone would purchase a sports sedan like this one and not get the PP package, just my opinion...

I don't want the stiffer suspension, the alcantara steering wheel and an extra $6000.

Well you obv have no clue what your missing out on, but you are entitled to your own opinion of course, but I bet you have never driven both... So how do you really know if you've never experienced both... The suspension is amazing, not TOO stiff at all, it’s a sports car!! The Alcantara wheel is probably what most people complement me on when they look at the interior, but I can see why some people wouldn’t want it, but that’s not a good excuse not to upgrade the brakes, suspension, and LSD, plus the top limit removal is also fun... That’s if you got the marbles.... The money I can understand, if you can’t afford it then you can’t get it... BTW its not 6 grand unless you get RIPPED by your dealer... But if you can afford a $66,000 dollar car I don’t think the PP package should be a problem... With a sports car of this caliber HOW can you NOT get the PP package...just my 2 cents.

LSD is for cornering and uneven roads I thought, not launching, downshifting. People running same quarter miles LSD or not.

I also agree, the LSD is the only thing I would've liked but not for 4,000.
- Don't need speed delimiter, I will tune it.
- Don't like alcantra steering wheel.
- Brakes/Suspension nice, but I'm going with coilovers

Track is not liek normal roads Track has glue (VHT) on its surface so u don't suffer as much wheel spin, as you would on normal roads.

LSD will help launch by making sure both tires spin together and not just one making you push one side more then the other, also cuts down on esp cutting power am told to...so

most of you wont take the car to the track, which means u have normal roads, which mean u can not mash throttle and get going with out some fancy driving & sticky/wider tires

I don't think my 08 came with the LSD option at the time but it would have been a nice feature to have since it also spins the tires pretty often.

Anybody know if the 08s came with the PP Package cuz I know I had the P2 Package along with some sort of Performance?

O8's did not have the PP available... they only started delivering those with the 09's and then again, if you recall, the packages were not complete, only partial because MB screwed up......

you don't need to buy the complete 030 package, the lsd is also separat on the optionslist available. but therefore you have to order the car direct from the factory.
shaker this is wrong, the 030 package was also available in 2008 (i drove an early 2008 model with 030 package). but especially in the us and as well as in the middle east the people don't want to wait for a special order car. this is why the general distributors have them in their stock and of course this cars are all more or less equipped with the same things.

special equippment code for stand alone lsd : SA 471

I totally agree on your points, the only thing I really want on the car would be the LSD. Too bad AMG doesn't allow standalone options, so I'll have to be looking for it aftermarket.

of course they allow to have the lsd as a stand alone option, see my last post, even retrofitting of the original (code471 or 030) lsd (includes the comlete lsd+housing) is not a problem. the only thing what you need is a guy with some knowledge at your local dealer, who doesnt tell fairytails...

so is this only allowed as a dealer installed option - my car will be a march build, if i could get it from the factory as a stand alon i would

if you have ordered the car with sa code 471 it will come only with the lsd of the 030 package, otherwise you dealer can retrofit it, part numbers mentioned on post 19.
maybe the salesperson don't know about code 471.
or this option is not offered by mbusa.
anyway the stock lsd could be retrofitted without any problems

How does the car with LSD differ from a non-LSD when ripping around a corner, etc.

it will show its true colors in the corners, thats why you have an lsd in the first place, helps you put the power to the ground by keeping both rear wheels in check
